650 ignition/solved

Post by 4REICH » Sat May 02, 2020 12:12 pm

I fried the electronic ignition on a 650 engine. I really don't want to order from eastern Europe because I am somewhat impatient these days. My job has been changed and reduced to 4 night shifts a week, with the extra time off and up all night while normal citizens are sleeping I'm trying to work the bugs out of a Dnepr before I paint. I would be most gracious if anyone would be willing to sell me one

I have a pile of random older ignition bits that have come in with different boxes of “stuff”.
If you post a photo of what you need, I’ll check to see if I have it.

Of course I would piece meal the ignition to keep it running but in the long term I would be saving my money for a ducati or C5 ignition and what I have to do to make it work! Affordable hell no! $400 and some change, when factory ignition on my 97 Ural quit I replaced with ducati ignition, GAME CHANGER!

Thank you Jaybird, I'll get a picture tonight. I agree with you Uralnut60 we get what we pay for and quality isn't cheap but the plan with this bikeis to do a BMW conversion once conditions at work improve. I found some points and an old condenser out of a seized engine, hopefully I can pull some life out of it.

If I have something you can use I’ll send it out to you, it’s just random stuff I only keep it Incase I can help someone out or I need to get some old bike running without spending a ton of money.
I will need a photo though as descriptions and part numbers don’t mean much to me.

By all means, post a photo of what you need. 650's came with a few different ignitions. Type I, Type 2, Type 3.....

I have some old Type 1 stuff if you need it also....just for the postage.

I think that’s an aftermarket ignition.
I’m pretty sure all the miscellaneous ignition parts I have are original Ural/Dnepr parts.
If you post a photo of what you need, I will take a look anyway.
If I have something, I don’t want anything for it, just glad to find it a home and help someone out.

Thank you again Jaybird for the offer, but it is an aftermarket ignition. I appreciate your kindness

You’re welcome, glad to see you got it up and running again.
It’s just for this reason I keep a points ignition on hand.
