On April 28, 5 more days

I pick up a 2016 Gear Up with 2200 Kms on the odo from a nice old boy who just didn’t use it much. While it’s the 5th bike in the stable (I don’t have a wife to tell me to stop

) it is certainly the most unique and I’m REALLY looking forward to learning the in’s and out’s of managing one of these rigs. The bike is 575 km away so I’m planning to go pick it up with an auto transport trailer from UHaul. I’ve spent a week trying to find a 6x12 flat deck trailer (including UHaul’s) and there is NOTHING anywhere near me. I’m pulling with a Chev 1/2 ton 4x4. Any suggestions AND what is the wheelbase of the motorcycle (I have to give the dimension to UHaul)? Looking forward to all the fun of the learning curve

It ain’t easy being me!

Welcome to the foil. I invite you to update your signature line with the year and model of your Ural, plus your location. This gives readers of your posts context about what you're writing. Also, please try to master the forum's search feature. Almost any question you can think up has already been asked and answered. Finally, please post images to help illustrate your points and queries. A picture really is worth a thousand words (
and we love to ogle other members' bikes
).

Congratulations and welcome to the insanity! If you were closer, and could cross the border to WA, you could use my flatbed aluminum trailer. But you will figure it out with U-Haul.
Be safe and pictures, pictures, pictures!!!

Lokiboy has provided good info on dimensions. If you find it a little hard to read, click on the picture once and it will be enlarged, click on it a second time and it will be enlarged again. At that point even my old eyes find it easy to read.

That's a handy sketch. Should be pinned here. Others will need it down the road.
I have a 6 ft wide flatbed for mine. Works fine.

I have a 5 X 8 foot trailer, without sides, and the rig fits nicely. And she's comin' home tomorrow!

A few years back I purchased an old Massey tractor from a guy about 30 miles away... I told U-Haul Corporate of my plans... their reply was “Massey isn’t listed in our reference book as an ‘approved’ fit for the car hauler...” No dice...
Fortunately the local U-Haul dealer knew the ins-and-outs of the business and recommended I haul a “ ‘92 Honda Accord” (wink wink) instead... whaddaya know... the Accord was on the approved list...

Thanks to all, I didn’t have my settings correct on this board (and thought I was being ignored yesterday) but now see the responses. I have updated my profile but still can’t find the measurement of the wheelbase of JUST the motorcycle (I am overqualified re senior moments though). Anyone know that from memory, or where I can find it? I HAVE typed in numerous search titles and not discovered it. TIA

I believe that the trailer must be at least 5Ft 6 inches wide and nine-foot-long. I'm presently looking to buy that size for my Ural, however, it seems that 6ft by 10ft is more available.
