stock exhaust
Found a used exhaust for my 2013 Gear up. It came with two different size muffler hangers. Installed the longer hanger on the inboard side.
Do I have the wrong hardware or did I install it incorrectly?
Thanks

Re: stock exhaust
I just went and looked at my hardware and its the same as what you have, 1 is longer than the other. I currently have a 2into1 high mount exhaust on my rig so my parts are in a box. I cant be 100% certain but you may have the mufflers on the wrong sides. Try swapping them and rotating them until they appear level from the rear.

Re: stock exhaust
Something seems "off" with those pictures. I no longer have stock exhaust but do use most of the original hanging hardware. The pipes are symmetrical & evenly spaced (unless I have hit a tree or rock off-road, Ha).
There's pretty much no way you cannot have the front hangers correct since there's only one place the can attach. But here's a picture of the stock exhaust with the stock hangers on them if it helps at all. Might have to turn the cans a bit till they match each other. Anotherwords loosen the hanger and turn it within till they match.
Your left-side does look correct:

Re: stock exhaust
Wondering if the problem is you got the wrong muffler on the right side? Mines a one wheel drive, but I'd thing a two wheel drive would need an indent in the muffler to clear the transfer case so you can tuck it in tighter to match the other side. Be easy enough to check with the pipes mounted - just look for a really big dent in the left side muffler. ;-}

Re: stock exhaust
Thanks for all the input. I wasn't sure what was going on. Gave it a twist and tighten it back up. Good to go.

You're going to want the left one high or it will fall off.

Re: stock exhaust
the stock pipes are not symmetrical on the 2wd, the outside pipe is high for ground clearance and the inside pipe is low to clear the 2wd. I found a couple old shots of mine before I changed over to modtops for you to compare your's to.

Re: stock exhaust
Thanks again for all the photos and suggestions.
I hope I don't knock off a muffler any time soon.
Next week I get my beginners permit. Just going to stick to the paved roads.

I've gotten mine stuck in mud and I have scraped the left one several times now when flying the chair. Haven't knocked one off yet but it's coming, I'm sure of it.
