Strict (buggy) time limit on searches.

Post by haqzore » Fri May 26, 2023 6:17 pm

Hello.

As a newer Retro owner, I try to do the polite thing and search before asking :)

The problem is, the cooldown time on searches is frustratingly long (in my opinion).

On top of that, I'll hope back to the site after not being here for days, and I'm instantly greeted with another search timer cooldown.

Is there a reason for the strict cooldown? I actually own/operate 2 active motorcycle forums myself and have never found a need for cooldown limits like those in enforced here.

Wonder if anyone else experiences this?

I run into cooldown issues all the time. Mainly when I use the search function, then if I try to go to the next page of the search results, I get hit with the cooldown.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your first post.

You pose a good question for the two forum Administrators, MartyL and JohnBG. I don't know that anyone else could answer this, as only they have access to the forum settings.

Also, not to be pedantic, but regarding your signature line, the Retro and the M70 are two distinct models of Ural. Of course, they're remarkably similar, just as the Gear-Up and Patrol were, but in 2014, the Retro did not appear in the Ural catalog; only the M70 did.
