Issue with Apple Safari users getting logged off - How to Fix

Post by JohnBG » Tue Mar 28, 2017 11:31 am

This morning it appears that there is an issue with Apple iOS device users viewing the forums with the Safari browser that logs them off when they click on a topic link.

The iOS Google Chrome browser and Tapatalk app are not affected and working fine.

To fix it, on your Apple iOS device, go to Settings --> Safari --> Clear History and Website Data. Then open the SS forums in Safari browser and log in again. If Safari asks to update the keychain, click Yes, update for all sovietsteeds.com sites. This seems to fix the problem.

Sorry for the inconvenience...

For the first time ever this evening I kept being logged off in the middle of viewing / writing posts - but I'm using Firefox on Windows 10. Image

Not done for an hour or so since tho.

I had our web host install a new SSL certificate earlier today. Firefox issue should be resolved.

Try clearing the browser's cache and logging in again.

I'm using Safari on a MacBook Pro John. No problems this morning or right now at night.
