Dnepr oil pressue light

Post by uhg14 » Sat Sep 16, 2017 3:54 am

Hi
I have a Dnepr MT 10-36 with 8,500 km on the speedometer.
I use 20w-50 oil.
The motorcycle run nicely and I neve pass 70 km/h.
After a ride ofb about 20-25 min the oil lamp lights while idling.
The cylinders temp is acceptable (170,150C). There is no starnge behavior or noises.
Should I raise the idle RPM?
Any other ideas?
Nathan

Try another sender or better yet, plump in a pressure gauge.
The cheap oil pressure test sets at HF have a fitting that will fit the Dnepr case.
IIRC, seeing 35-40psi at idle is common.

I put a glycerin filled oil pressure gauge on my Dnepr. They last longer than the cheap oil pressure gauges.
