Need help to identify some parts I can't recognize

Post by Desantnik-VDV » Tue Dec 03, 2019 11:35 am

I don't remember what one package of parts are. Who know what this kit is for?
Looks like could be for carb, because in pairs...

Two o-rings with about 53mm ID
And two grommets with about 15mm

And then there is a pair of exhaust gaskets I think, and then some aluminum rings with 52mm or 2" ID (looks like for carbs?) and 4 small metal washers.

Don't know about the "o" ring picture . The aluminum rings are Raceway perch rings . They go on the airbox side of your carbs to give you a larger perch for your hose coming from your airbox. The red gaskets are heat shields . They mount on your heads where the rubber compliance fittings hold your carbs to the head intake. Put them against the head , under your existing gasket.

the o rings may be for the old style oil filter.

I think the O-rings are for the metal base of the oil filter

Yes, the o rings go at the base of the filter and the little rubber grommet fits inside the filter. The aluminum rings are perch rings - if you've still got the old air hoses, replace them with the new style. You'll thank yourself the second time you have to pull the carbs.

Thanks guys. I will remove compliance fittings and install the heat shields gaskets. I have new stile intake hoses new in box.
I got the o-rings and gomets knowledge as well. Thanks.
Last Ural oil filter I changed was back in 2005 and that was a 1999 Deco Classic before I converted that bike to BMW R100 engine.

Many new parts in packages waiting to be installed and many yet to be ordered for a brand new 2007 GearUp NOS with 32 km on odo😃

Good lord, I thought the 2007 I bought was well preserved. I've never seen a Ural looking so spotless...now go get it dirty.

Had it running yet? I'd expect your carbs are varnished pretty bad if the fuel is that old. I'd also plan on flushing the tank - even regularly used, it's amazing the amount of crud that will find it's way into places it shouldn't oughta be ...

As for rust inside the tank. I’ve always had some sort rust in mine. Not ideal, but not a problem either. The petcock filters have restricted anything of consequence.

Cleaning carbs, w@$#ing the gas tank. Got some Red-Kote, planning to apply inside the tank.
Factory carb jets were 38 idle and 125 main. Got new pairs of 42 and 130 for replacement.
Will need to buy a manual petcock and toss away that vacuum...
