Both Carbs to petcock vacuum?

Post by Marco » Fri Sep 06, 2019 7:44 pm

Just curious,
Does it matter which carb is hooked to vacuum on petcock? Can there be any advantage to both carbs to vacuum with T in middle or would this damage something?

It makes sense to use the left carb since that is the side of the tank the petcock is on.

Connecting to both carbs will not increase the vacuum. On some twin cylinder bikes there is a vacuum line connecting the intake tracts. As I recall it is supposed to smooth vacuum pulses. In my opinion it is another couple of areas for failure. Many remove the line connecting the intakes and cap the ports.

I can't think of how trying it would damage anything.

Well then I'll just leave it alone.
Thanks

No, one carb is fine. Left is best. Less hose to fail and leak.
