cigar lighter power

Post by shoalsgary » Sun Aug 04, 2019 4:23 pm

I'm suddenly getting no power to my cigar lighter. All fuses check good and have clean contacts. The connection between the sidecar and the tug is clean, but with ignition off, there is not a single terminal that is hot! Is there an inline fuse or a hidden fuse somewhere?

Mines under the drivers saddle by the battery.

Ditto. On mine the line comes directly off the positive battery terminal and there is a 20a mini fuse not too far from the battery.
Past afflictions include limey motocars and bikes, R60/2, R65ls, & a Citroen.

^ What they said. Permanently live off battery via a separate inline type 20A fuse, i.e. not part of normal fusebox.

Thanks! I'll pull the saddle tomorrow and have a look-see

Shouldn't be necessary, just pull off the side panel?
