I attempted to adjust the parking brake due to it not holding. Promptly pulled the end off the cable. New cable $80 plus 2 weeks. Cable repaired at local motorcycle machine shop, cost $20. Reduced tension of cable to minimum, adjusted arm (on the rear brake) of parking brake to the right about 1\4 inch. Now the brake holds fast with no stress on the cable.
I think I skinned a cat.

2017 ural, you learn fast, the adjustment you did was the major adjustment, the other end has a lock nut and adjuster nut adjustment, for the fine adjustments. lots of folks here have just given up on the hand park brake, as they always need adjustment as pads wear down. I just put the bike in first gear, some use reverse, or carry a brick.

I have a 2014 but I use a front brake lock when needed.

I'm another new owner of a 2017 Gear Up and my parking brake cable also pulled off of the bead at the end. Was your parking brake repair covered under the warranty?
