Easy to access wire near headlight that powers on with ignition?

Post by Rubiconnn » Tue Dec 05, 2023 11:09 pm

Does anyone know which wire near the ignition cylinder or around that area that is easy to access that also powers on with the key? I'm installing some temperature gauges using vampire clips for power. They only draw a few milliamps so current rating isn't a big deal. It's a 2012 Gear Up.

Follow the headlight wires back to where it plugs into the loom. The headlight only uses three wires; high beam, low beam, and ground. But you will find a fourth wire that is used as a running light in the Euro bikes.

It is a switched 12v supply with the added benefit that it is also on in the third key position which can come in handy to use whatever accessories you are powering without having ignition or headlight turned on.
