I wasn't sure where to start this thread but upcoming rides just didn't seem appropriate.
We lost one of our members yesterday to colon cancer. Dr. Michael Ross known here as Mikeonabike was sports medicine physician and practiced what he preached being an avid bicyclist and competing in at least one triathlon that I know of. He came to Urals a couple of years ago when the cancer battle made some of his prior activities impractical. He took to Ural life quickly enjoying mostly local rides but also a few longer days and even a couple of off-road excursions.
The Ural meant enough to him that one of his last requests was for a Ural send-off. His funeral will be this Sunday 9/29. His wife has asked if we can ride in a short precession from the service to the cemetery. I believe we have four or five rigs so far but if you are local and can join us, the support would be appreciated.
I don't have details on time or location yet(Western suburbs) but pm me and I'll keep you updated.

I am sorry to hear about this.
It seems like this may get a little more visibility in the Upcoming Rides and Rallies section. Given the nature of this item, I doubt anyone would object to you duplicating this on that section.
I am about 250 miles form Philly. I will try to make it have some challenges with my schedule.

I'm too far to make it, but I'll add his name to our windscreen for the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride taking place that day.
Thank you for sharing this.
RIP Dr Ross
