Just checking in and hoping all of the regulars and some newbies to the Spring get together can make it. Been working on getting some maps and rides together for everyone. Will not be as intense as some of the Moab stuff but I think we can keep everybody entertained.

Out and about the other day so I figured I would throw a couple of pictures of the area in here. This is just a few miles outside of town.

Howdy Dana,

Looks like my ride up to Inuvik is going nowhere, so that opens up time for other travels. Guess I'll ride out and join you guys.

Cheers,

Dan K.

Dana, I'll be in SW Utah the last week of May/Early June.. albiet on a WR250R but if you are around I'd spend a day or so riding with ya.

Also thanks SOOO much years ago helping me with the stranded Ural in Carbondale (or maybe Grand Junction..) that you brought to your place until it was taken to Unique Rides :) I'm seriously grateful for your help.

Also, have dates been picked? I have vacation March 24-June 2, but that includes driving to/from Michigan. so more likely 25-1st in the Colorado area.

Dates will be basically Sunday May 19th to Sunday May 26th. May 27th is Memorial Day so that should give the front range folks that leave on Sunday a break from the traffic heading back on I70.

You were stranded in Glenwood Springs I thought and no problem with the rescue. Bring that WR over, there are some other folks on dirt bikes so you will have plenty of company.

For those folks riding over from the Eastern areas if you do not want to spend all of the time on I70 you can get off at Gypsum and come over Cottonwood Pass to Carbondale and then 133 from Carbondale over McClure Pass to Hotchkiss. Cottonwood is dirt and with all of the snow we have had may not be open until Memorial Day though. If Cottonwood is not open then just go through Glenwood Canyon and get off in Glenwood Springs and head up to Carbondale. I drive over McClure every weekend and it is a great ride just watch for rocks and critters. Strange thing is there are a lot more turkeys on the road than deer, there are three or four spots where you come around a corner and there will be fifteen or twenty turkeys crossing the road. The turkeys will just stop and look at you before they continue on also.

Are you sure you mean Cottonwwod Pass? My understanding is that Cottonwood Pass is just west of Buena Vista, going over to Taylor Park Reservoir....

Hey if you guys going to CO are interested, then folks going to Moab 04-22+ could bring stuff to CO? Just a thought.

YMMV
