A picture is worth a thousand words. The part that isn't black? That part. Here it is before being slid all the way on to the rail. The last 3/8".

Thanks for the pic Bob. When you assembled the 'kit' did the rails (on the slide) show any wear marks to indicate where to do the file work?

And how much filing was needed? Subjective question I realize. I'm guessing you filed a bit, did a test fit, and filed some more... ? Did you use any Dykem machinist's layout bluing as you worked?

Yes. It did take just a slight bit of filing to get it to slide on better.
Filing... on the new slide (not on the frame, I hope)? How did you you identify where to file? I hate the thought of buggering up my pistol.
Look at all of the CZ fans here - how cool is that! My first CZ love was a manual safety SP01. I have since added a Shadow 2, P01, P06, P07, and P10C. Looove my CZs!

Re: fitting, I have a Kadet kit for my S2 which required no fitting and it works flawlessly. The instructions that came with it were self explanatory as far as where to file if needed. Well worth buying, especially now with 9mm supply scarce and getting expensive.

Hi Lew,
Yes, I just fit, filed, fit, filed, and about 10 minutes later it was good. No bluing stuff used.

I've tried to respond to this 2 times but keep getting Bad Gateway when I hit submit. Let's see if a third time works. Each answer gets shorter. :)

i've been buying 9mm ammo one 200 round box at a time. that's the limit per person, per day. a very nice store about 30 minutes from me has kept up with demand fairly well during these times and i have a bunch now.
at my house i can safely shoot pistols off my back porch.
if I need long range, my buddy across the street has 15 acres and a nice 100 yd range. a short walk across the street...
it's ideal.

Protip: For those of you looking for ammo and can't find it in the stores locally- try ammoseek.com They list by anything you want: caliber, bullet grains, FMJ/JHP and provide results by price up or down. They provide a direct link to the sellers website and poll all the major supplier sites every few minutes from Cabela's on down to the little specialty shops. Right now 9mm is stupid high and scarce about $0.60- $1.00 per pew for name brand FMJ target rounds. There are dozens of sellers on there showing in stock right now, so you can find ammo, but it's spendy, 2-3 times pre-scare rates. 5.56mm FMJ is about $0.60 + and M855 green tip is over $0.80/pew going rate.

That's a good price from what I'm seeing out there right now, it's still 40% higher than I was seeing last fall for FMJ tho.

I’ll be polite, Lew, and not point out you guys in CA can only have 10-round magazines. :P

Ummmm- you just did :) Also no pistol grips on rifles. I give my gunfriends on the Left Coast crap about the laws out there all the time too, tho.

not anymore...

9th Circuit ends California ban on high-capacity magazines
Friday’s decision upholds a 2017 ruling by San Diego-based U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez, who blocked a new law that would have barred gun owners from possessing magazines holding more than 10 bullets.
Now actually buying one is another thing all together. I bought two 17-round mags last spring when the initial ban (by Benitez) was dropped (before the bock by CA A.G.Bercerra). Most of the on-line sellers don't want to get wrapped up in contradictory understandings of this, so they are refusing to ship to CA.

But four tens, and two 17 ought to get the job done. Just gotta hump those mag change drills...

We can’t pump our own gas in Orygun, but at least we can have mags that hold more than 10 rounds. And unlike NJ, which also bans self-service gas, we can have hollowpoint rounds in Orygun.

Hope the 9th Circuit decision overturning the ban on mags over 10 rounds holds up. Thanks for reminding me.

Between Cali’s mag ban and not being a “shall issue” state for concealed carry and the high taxes, I’d never move there, even as I recognize its beauty and great mc roads.

Ummm- sort of- they buried a little something in the article
