Looking for one of these DOGS

Post by INSUBORDINATOR » Sun Sep 08, 2019 12:55 pm

Been very blue since my Pal Jack died. My wife has Asthma & we are both getting on in life - so cant handle a large dog anymore. SO - our new requirements are HYPOALLEGENIC, SMALL, NON SHEDDING. But cute & fun also. With our daughters informed advice, I think we have narrowed the search to: a Small JAPANESE SPITZ.
They fill all requirements - with EXTREME CUTENESS & excellent attitude - as a bonus. Just need to locate & afford one.
Here's a few nice Pictures:

We had one when we lived in Japan. My mother bitched about all the hair that dog shed.

Check out Rescueme.org. Search for dogs then scroll down to Spitz.

Also, there is a Spitz Rescue Facebook page, ( I don't do FB ) but maybe these two options will help you.

In America during the WW2, a kennel changed the name of the dogs they bred from the German sounding Spitz to American Eskimo dog. Not sure what the difference between the German and Japanese bloodlines is but I know they are different lineages. There's also the Keeshond.

We’ve been rescuing Weims for 10 years or so... IMHO, like Ural’s, they’re gorgeous and attract their fair share of attention... we like them because they are “people dogs”... they instinctively stay close to us so we don’t have to worry about them wandering too far away as we walk around our property...

Most people are dumbfounded to find out they’re “rescues”... “Who would give up a dog like that!?!” Is the most common reaction...

What I’ve found is: no matter what breed you’re looking for, there’s likely a rescue group somewhere specializing in them (ours is a 12 hour drive one-way... and worth every second of that time)...

This is Indy... we lost her two weeks ago...

I believe the dog you are looking for is called a Shiba Inu. Just saw one tonight picking up a pizza. They are not hypoallergenic. Smart dog. This one was a lover.
