How many of us are active hams?

Here's a place for the group to discuss their other brands of bikes, hobbies, and personal interests not related to Ural & Dnepr Sidecar rigs. But not politics...

KC0ZPS (Zombie Pepper Spray)... I was into ham radio quite a bit there for awhile, but I've definitely slowed down in recent years. In fact, my 2003 FZ1 has a ham radio setup that I used to use all the time. The radio supported bluetooth, so I was able to communicate with people using a bluetooth headset that was paired with the radio. I would always check into a local repeater when I commuted to work.
I have that same Yaesu radio. It rode on my Honda Valkyrie for years and took TONS of abuse from the elements. Kind of wish I could find another one because I think the front end is finally going out. Right now, I have it sorta-mounted in the bucket of my Gear Up. I think the Bluetooth was only compatible with a proprietary headset, but otherwise I love the feature set of that rig. Sad that Yaesu dropped it. Best motorcycle radio EVER!. :)

Sorry for being away for so long. Updated my license to Extra, and changed my call to WO6Y. Also, added an ATAS 120A behind the tub, 2m/70cm mag mount to the rear fender, and an 857D. It's not mounted on the rig yet, but I operate it on the nose of the sidecar with excellent results for such a compromise antenna.

First off, congrats on the extra! I always say I'll do it someday.
No equipment on the Ural, just use dual band handy but, my Jeep runs 6m to 80m plus 144/440. (one radio, two antennas)

N7XVV here. I dabble a little every couple of months. I got the license for when we were cruising offshore but since that chapter has closed due to wife's health concerns I don't have a real good reason to keep at it. Might do a little more during the summer when it's too hot to do anything else. Been thinking about setting it up on the pontoon boat for when we do all night catching trips. I've been looking into the U.S. Islands Award program.
