head bolt torque..........
very nice collection of videos, BUT, there's no way in hades I'm going to try tightening those head bolts to 45 ft. lbs torque. My personal experience indicates that 28-35 ft. lbs is way more realistic, unless I've heli-coiled the threads in the engine case.
Factory fresh studs have more "stretchability" than older studs that have been "thermal cycled" several hundred times. So, new studs can use the higher inintial torque figures, while they heat cycle themselves to a final length and hardness.
Used studs will measure as slightly longer than fresh studs, and definitely have less "stretchability" in them. I play it safe and give myself a hefty margin when tightening used steel studs into aluminum base material.
So, I would treat the 45 ft-lb figure as a maximum to be used on fresh studs ONLY, with all new gaskets.
With used studs, and non-fresh gaskets, I'd use 35 ft.lbs
MAX torque, WET, meaning all thread material is lubricated while tightening.
Best Wishes to All

On your 2013 model, you have the bolt on seat plate. Take the four bolts out and easy access to the battery!

oddessy batteries are good batteries or I should say I have had real good luck with the one I have in my 650 KLR since 2009 and it is still running strong. The video are very helpful, thank you for posting them.

If anyone has working links of these vids, it would be awesome. I am currently trying to troubleshoot a leaking final drive and hoping for the best.
