Who has used and can comment intelligently on...

Woe unto you that bought the first model year of a major remake, perhaps this section can help address any 2014 and later model Ural "imperfections". Here's a special section for folks with the latest rigs to discuss 2014 and later model-related topics such fuel injection, 3-wheel disc brakes, hydraulic steering dampers, spin-on oil filters and other anomalies that don't belong on true Russsian motorcycle ;-P We've gone from using big hammers and greasy wrenches to needing computers and Ouija boards in order to fix our rigs.
Forum rules
Please keep this section specific to issues pertaining to 2014 and later models such as fuel injection, sidecar and rear disc brakes and so forth. Ask general or non-2014 and later specific questions in the main Hammerin' & Wrenchin' section.

...the usefulness of the "Ural Motorcycles OBD" smartphone application? Representative screenshots follow.

I'm curious about the functionality.

So i guess, this above disqualifies as intelligent answer...

Is it useful from 2019 on or does it do connect to 2014-2018 too :?:

I tried it, and nothing, black screen.

Might be because I denied it access to my photos, media, and location?

Well Lofty, you certainly restricted the pool of potential responders to your post when you asked for intelligent responses. I have nothing intelligent to offer, but I do have some questions about the app. Is there a place to find instructions on how to use the app? What sort of connection is required? What model years work with the app? Hopefully an intelligent responder will come along with some answers.

Likely no earlier than model year 2014. Have a look at the second image in post #1.

As I have no smartphone I guess I have not the intelligence to comment.

I just loaded that app to my iPhone only to find that neither of my bluetooth OBD adapters play with apple stuff. :( So I downloaded it to a android tablet I have, but could never get that app to connect to it even though it connected to other apps I have. And of course could not find any help page or anything. Hope it's not just a Chinese spy app  It would be nice to use it though because it is supposed to be able to tell what MAP is installed on the ECU's.

Did You allow it access to your location, photos, and media?

Yes, with that tablet I have nothing to hide as I have nothing on it. It is used only for such apps. Also use it with my Ford Powerstroke to check boost, waste gate, etc. Interestingly the iPhone app didn't ask for such permissions.

Barry, FlyingMonkees,
Thanks very much for the info. I'll probably pass on the app.
