2019 MIL (check engine light) stays on

Woe unto you that bought the first model year of a major remake, perhaps this section can help address any 2014 and later model Ural "imperfections". Here's a special section for folks with the latest rigs to discuss 2014 and later model-related topics such fuel injection, 3-wheel disc brakes, hydraulic steering dampers, spin-on oil filters and other anomalies that don't belong on true Russsian motorcycle ;-P We've gone from using big hammers and greasy wrenches to needing computers and Ouija boards in order to fix our rigs.

I had the same issue and it was hard telling what did what.

Initially it looked like a sensor and that got replaced (I was not up on the code readout and it was done during the serice as they did gert a readout ala I was long ways from home and service needed doing anywya)

then it came back and went away only to come back. Cycling the system did nothing for eliciting a blink code.,

It would occur reliable on a fill up (always a longer run) and then go away after running a while.

Then after the last one I tried to duplicate by overfill and it did not come back and has not recurred since.,

Go figure and there may be some oddities to the system.

the Mil light will probably go off in a few days.. I had a big back-fire on my 2019... (too much fuel after trying to kick start) The Mil light came, probably the extra 02 in the system caused the O2 sensor to trip. After about 3 days of riding around it went off. Meanwhile, I re-attaceed the compliance fitting (the rubber tube between the Throttle Body and the Air Feed) It was dislodged during the back fire. Bike runs fine. 3K service coming in a week or so, I'll check the valves and do the other stuff.. These are TOUGH birds...

NOTE: The error code will still be IN memory, but the light will go off on the display....... Ride on!

Perhaps you meant to refer to the branch tubes? They are the large hoses that provide a physical connection between the air filter housing and the individual throttle bodies.

The compliance fittings are small flanges that are installed between the throttle body and the cylinder head.

Is this a thing for the 2019 model? All the other EFI models ECU's are disconnected when you switch the ignition off, they are not live and do not require power to maintain memory (a bit like a flash drive).
Only just seen this. Actually they are constantly live via Fuse #1. (Or some part of them is.)

Looks that way doesn't it - if that is the case then there is no need to disconnect the battery - just pull fuse 1 which could be fuse 6 if the box is upside down depending on which one you have.
Be interesting to see if there is 12Vdc at G4 on the ECU connector or if there is a requirement to have generator output live?

Sorry don't understand the last bit. Generator output is permanently connected to battery so is always live?

Or are you talking about a fuse or link in the battery negative lead? (Which I don't have, and I'm not sure that any EFI bikes do.)

But yes pulling fuse #1 should do it. I disconnected mine once (actually the battery, at the ignition switch plug) but there wasn't anything different afterwards as a result.

Fuse #2 is 10A (blue?) so that's a way of telling which way up the fusebox is. Mine is #1 at the top. (it's beside the steering head.)

Don't trust the wiring diagram. I've seen fuse boxes right side up and mostly upside down in relation to the diagram. Check by wire color only.

FWIW - On my '14 the coils have constant power also.

Heindle has a good video on utube now explaining exactly how to clear the engine light on a 2019. The reason for the random clearing is probably the three cycles with 10 seconds or more of off time between. Catch the video and get the exact steps.

Sorry, you are 100% correct.
Finally got around to checking G4 and there is 12.85V on that pin with the ignition off. Pulling Fuse 1 (or 6 depending) will remove power from the ECU just as effectively as pulling the battery.
I still think that pulling power will not reset anything in bikes prior to 2019. My guess is you need the Dealers Software to make any lasting change and that requires a remap.

Today, I rode my 2019 Gear Up about 100 miles in 90-degree temperatures. After the Ural was parked in the sun for about 4 hours, the engine fault light activated when I started it up and stayed on all the way home, about 50 miles. I reset it with the 3 on and offs and the light disappeared, no fault code appearing. Is this normal after sitting in the hot sun? I now have 5100 miles on the bike.

Once in a great while they may display a random MIL light without an active fault. Mine sits out every day rain or shine, hot or cold without issue.
Last time I got a MIL light, it didn't store a flash code, but when I checked it with my OBD reader it showed low voltage.

Probably nothing.
