MIL Code Question

Hey All,

Been lurking on this great site since January when I got my bike. I did post as a newbie but I did't post a picture, so it didn't happen but it really did happen, honest!

On Sunday I went to a sidecar class about 30 miles (each way) and the bike ran great, no problems. :boogie: Parked at about 7 pm that night and did not start her up again until this morning. The MIL light came on so I did the kill>run>kill thing to get the code. The light goes out for about 2-3 seconds and comes back on. No flashes, just stays on. Does this mean it is the EMS(?)

Comments and suggestion welcomed. Thank you.

One more thing, the rig starts up if I twist the throttle when i press the start button and will not hold an idle unless the throttle is opened up a little.

Try disconnecting the battery for a few mins. Resets the system.

Also sounds like the initial throttle body setup might not be correct.

I had the same thing happen about three months ago. MIL light on but no code. Resetting the ecu by disconnecting the battery didn't help. Even the dealer had no clue. Engine ran fine so I kept riding. I would try for a code occasionally and about three weeks ago it decided to give me a code for a failed O2 sensor. Replaced the sensor and all is well. YMMV

Thanks for your responses. Vacation time came up quickly and I went north for the week without the ride. When I get back next Monday I will try a reset.
