Maine/New Hampshire Fall ride from Crocker Pond 2019

Post by Mystery Jig » Tue Oct 15, 2019 11:06 pm

Once again, we got together. There were old faces and new faces, alike. We're still drawing Urals but also a mess of other bikes. That's OK.

We camped on Crcoker Pond in the sliver of White Mountain National Forest that peeks over the border from New Hampshire into Maine. The leaves were gorgeous, the weather was not bad and the beef jerky was pretty darned good.

There's dirt roads aplenty around western Maine and eastern New Hampshire. We hit some of them. A few of them hit us. But we all seemed to get along.

I'll get this report started with a few photos...

I think we hit peak leaf peeping time.

Such a great spot for camping.

Loaded up and truckin'.

Fall is bear hunting season in Maine.

Nice Video, Rommel sure has gotten big. Wish I didn't have to leave early.

PS I got pulled over on the way back, you guessed it, tail light out.

Most states, I believe any tail light or light on the vehicle must be functional.

OK, here's the story. the plastic that the screw connecting the power lug melted, I epoxied the thing back on before the weekend. I worked for awhile but then the electrical connection didn't hold. Since the sidecar light worked there wasn't an issue and let me go. Or maybe the fact when I got my drivers licence out of my wallet I had to dig through my retired military ID and state law enforcement ID. Yes, I know the proper order to place my licence in my wallet. My momma might have raised a fool, but I got a brother.
Oh, and it was that time of the night when they pull people over for anything to see if they're drunk.
