Warbirds Over the Beach

Post by Lokiboy » Sun May 19, 2019 10:09 am

Ural riders gathered for a glorious, sunny day in Pungo, VA attending the Military Aviation Museum’s annual “Warbirds Over the Beach” airshow.

Not just an airshow, the event includes reenactors representing US, British, and German forces. Along with authentic uniforms and weapons (which they allow though to handle) there are numerous vehicles as well.

The stars of the event are the aircraft such as the ME-109G, P-40 E, Mustang, Corsair, Catalina, Wildcat, Ju-52 etc. take to the air and to hear the thunder of a powerful engine is music to a lover of history.

I regret I did not take as many photos as I should have.

You need to come down and visit the museum sometime, Mike. You won't be disappointed.
They've even got a nice old hack...

plenty of Wehrmacht gear in good shape. I like the old BMW and Zündapp rigs. But they are far off my budget...

@mattzahr: They are rare. And expensive. Prices have doubled during the past 5 or 10 years. Like € 55,000 for a well restored KS750 Zündapp. Crazy.
Good ones are sold very quick. Lots of fraud in the market. Fake frames frum Hungaria and other eastern europe origin.
Below 15 k€ you get absolute garbage only. Almost all rigs below 20 k€ are sold in parts to make more money.
Lots of bent frames and defective housings, hacks built of defective junk. Very expensive to rebuilt, almost impossible to really built them up.
Most of buyers are not motorcycle enthusiast anymore but investors.
For real honest and absolute outstanding information about BMW and Zündapp Wehrmachtsgespann have a look here:
This http://www.wehrmachtsgespann.de/index-english.htm is THE MAN. Hans-Peter Hommes.
