Hemisphere Offroad Sidecar Dual Light Rock Guard Prototype for Review

Post by HemisphereOffroad » Thu Feb 28, 2019 12:18 am

New product development announcement!

We are working on a rock guard for the 2016-up sidecar lights that Ural is now making with the molded plastic mounting base.

This is the prototype. We need to lower the guard about 1/2" and bring it a bit farther away from the light lenses, but otherwise it's a good representation of what we would make in production.

We will follow this up with a version to fit the older bikes too, using the same obround shaped mesh guard.

Thoughts? Love it? Hate it? Suggested changes before we start tooling it up?

Thanks in advance!

Is it possible to independently position each light on the horizontal plane, or are they only adjustable vertically?

That means Chad is going to make his own mounting system.

I don't like to be constrained to only one axis. I need at least two axis... axes?... axises?... axees? :?

Chad the rockstar: Yes, axes is also the plural of ax and axe, but it is also the plural of axis. Axes has the distinction of being the only word in English that is the plural of three different singular nouns.

Looks great and would be a great addition. If you keep the price reasonable and include it in the "kit" you are now offering that is on sale (certainly with a higher price) it should sell well. When will production begin and when will it be available? I will wait to order the on-sale kit until this is ready. Thanks for a nice looking and much needed product!

This is the OEM Ural design for the lights and mount, both lights are hard mounted with a bolt through the side (visible in our pics) Our product is just the black rock guard, FYI.

Thanks for the kind words!

We are gathering a preorder list (no payment now, just a wait list) like we do for all new products. The number of interested buyers drives our tooling priority. Enough buyers = faster tooling = faster release to market. :)

I would imagine it will be about a month or so.

Please add me to your list for one for my 2018 Gear Up. Let me know when to call with my credit card. Will the special for the "kit" still be on?

Thanks! Added you to the list. Please email me so I can alert you by email when we are ready.

Sorry, but the sale is over for now, but I imagine we will have a new one when we release the new dual light guard.

OK we have started tooling up for the old and new style dual light rock guards.

Price will be $119 when we start shipping alter this month.

For now, we have this dandy one-off non-tooled prototype that we'd be willing to sell if someone wanted it. It's about 1/2" too high and almost touches the lens, but otherwise works just fine.

First customer who emails us at sales@hemisphereoffroad.com gets is for $65 + shipping

And, if you send us photos of it on your bike, we'll send you a free Hemisphere Offroad baseball cap. How's that for a deal!
