Which Model?: More choices

Post by Boice76 » Tue Feb 11, 2020 1:46 pm

Hi again I know I just asked about the 2014 vs 2019 and I appreciate all the advice I got. But I just found a 2018 gear up for$13500 brand new leftover thats about a 3k savings over the 2019... So the question is are the 19s Worth the 3k more... Or save the money and get the 18 brand new and comes with a 3 year warranty instead of the 2 ... Thanks again friends

It is so subjective of a decision. If the 2018 was a Retro, I'd get the Retro. If we are talking same to same model (a cT or a gear up) I'll be honest, I'd get the 2019/2020.

Go back to your original post and re-read. Gonna get the same answers no matter what the $$$ is. Most was about the technology upgrade, not price.

I don't know who that is..... :P

Because of the unique situation I can't say exactly what I paid to upgrade my 2018 to full 2020 specs minus the fuel tank, but the MSRP for the parts would be around $4300.00. Just the EFI kit would be $2100.00

Well it was a close thing, but the enthusiasm was clear!

Trust me I wreste4ld with those issues as well, but silently. I am used to pulling tech information together and what is needed and workign through it. I have done the same thing with autos and have picked those right (and listened to my brother on features as he bought and sold a lot and knew what was a help). I still regret not getting the heated mirrors on the F-250. Seemed miner but one of those miner things that is a real help.

From the group I could clearly see that for me newer was better, it really came down to a 2015-2018 and the 2019.

The cT was always my only choice as I have no business messing with the back in mud holes. I have long distances to run on main roads so the better handling was a benefit. Worst I will see is hard packed roads and gravel roads.

What pushed me to the 2019 in the end was the power increase and the final improvements in the heads/oil quantity increase.

As noted though, older machines are workign fine for a lot of owners in different circumstances and the 2005 pick by my wife's cousin was a perfect example that one size and missions does not apply to all.
