This is my 2012. Is there a "rebuild" kit for the final drive?
It runs fine, no noise no wobble...that's why I was shocked to find big bits as opposed to furry bits on the magnet.

No, just order some paper or paronite shim-gaskets for the case (the same number that are already installed), open 'er up, see what's broken, then order that part.

Ernie, it’s probably small pieces coming off the pinion gear. I’ve had similar debris in the fluids in the past. I just opened my FD a few days ago and saw where a few of the gears had had smalls pieces break off. I’ve gone a lot of miles with no problems. IMHO, refill, ride a few 100 km then drain again. If you’re not seeing any more chucks then forgetaboutit.

I should note that I opened thenFD to replace my drive hub and reused the pinion gear. Didn’t dawn on me to order a new one. (faith or ignorance - its a fine line)

Oh, I’ve also had fluids look like yours in the past. But, I tend to wait and see. It should diminish but (at least on mine) never totally go away.

Good luck

Hey Ernie, If you need a garage and a warm place to work on that FD, bring it on down my way. I got all the tools and work benches. Have never cracked open a FD before so this would be a learning experience for me.

The 1WD is a lot simpler than the 2WD, too. If you replace the gears, you should be getting the new Italian ones, but it'll be good to ask specifically for them.

Where does one get these gears from, and how do you know when you get them that are Italian??

This metal debris is way too large. Don't drive it anymore or you can ruin the bevel gear. New Russian made gear set is a bit expensive. New western made gear set is f-ing expensive. If it's just broken tab, loose bolt or ruined bearing, fix is cheap.
By my deeds I honor him, flat twin.

Shopping list:
ring gear & pinion set - make sure to ask for new ones
paper case gaskets - get three or four, they're cheap
new SKF bearing - if you're gonna keep the bike or just want to do a good job

Putting in a new pinion & ring set you may need shims for both the pinion and the ring gear. Ask Gene or Terry or Heindl. Sometimes you need 'em and sometimes you don't. They aren't expensive, at any rate. I like to have them on hand 'cause if you need them your job just stopped dead until you get them in the mail.
