Stock Ural Fairings

Post by Kirkus » Thu Jan 10, 2019 3:21 pm

Looking at the different dealer sites there seem to be 3 or 4 different "stock" Ural steel fairings. Which one would be best for my upcoming Retro?

Retro uses a different frame than the Gear-Up/ cT/ Patrol/ Tourist/ etc

The stock steel fairing is for the Gear-Up/ cT/ Patrol/ Tourist frame.

Retro uses an aftermarket like a Plexistar or Givi - https://live.uralcatalog.com/accessory/ ... 2353/2263/

Could you install the steel fairing on a Retro? It would take some trimming and perhaps some fabrication for the upper support arms. Not impossible, not plug and play.

Gone Uraling on Facebook has a Retro with a fairing. A little searching on his page should have photos.

I've always kind of favored the soft fairing with windscreen on the M70's...

Not sure. You can send a Private Message to Flyguy and ask him where he sourced his (pictured).

I was told by Jason at IMWA that they don't recommend their fairing for the Retro/M70. The headlight brackets are different, and prone to cracking with the additional stress.
