BMW badge with Russian letters?

Post by shoalsgary » Sat Sep 21, 2019 3:07 pm

Know of anyone who makes a BMW badge with Russian letters, preferably in black and red?
Riding since 1956. Started with a 50 Whizzer, Had everything including two previous URALs, substituted a 2006 Bavarian Classic for my 2017 Indian Chief Vintage that I and my wife no longer can ride.

I asked the same question some time back & one generous member with better computer skill than I - CAME UP WITH THIS: Russian IMZ BADGE WITH RED instead of BMW Blue. I plan on Printing one up in the correct size & putting it in a British made HALCYON tax tag holder (Chrome steel & Glass) -
On the front fork of my 02 tourist.

HERE IS THE PHOTO - YOU CAN COPY & DO THE SAME THING - OR PAY TO HAVE STICKERS MADE. I'm Also considering having my local copy place make me up a POSTER for my URAL CAVE.

SO SAVE THIS PHOTO - & Good Luck, C.

Those Halcyon tag holders, how do they go together? If you cut the mounting tab off and finished the edge, do you just mount with double sided mounting tape? Would you have to worry about it coming unsnappedtogether?
I have a funny wife. Hilarious, really.
I love her, she loves me.

That's just a bastardised EMW badge. Whoever designed it could have picked a colour not related to a German manufacturer. What's wrong with the original IMZ badge, or are some of you just attention seeking fantasists?

Don't know of any Cyrillic BMW clones but Oldtimers Garage has some cool tank badges. Real metal not stickers.

I wouldn't cut of the bolt tab off - its needed to open the holder - it is 4 pieces: the back holder with tab, a piece of round glass, A rubber Gasket, & a chrome screw on rim (like a jar lid) to hold the glass & tag into the holder. The tag stays still inside. It goes on a front fender bolt or headlight bolt on Brits. As a club Badge holder it could be mounted to one of the Chrome hinge straps on the rear of TUB.

Mounting Any metal thing to metal that gets hot in the sun, with any kind of TAPE - even foam double side mounting tape - is a good way to LOSE IT.
Also goofy to vandalize an expensive Classic British Artifact. They bolt on - as intended - easily.

3M body moulding tape will stick ... that's what it's made for. I keep a roll handy here for that sort of thing.

He said "chrome steel and glass", so would be quite heavy. Having used these things myself, I wouldn't trust any kind of tape. Usually the outer ring screws on after putting in the paper disc (and glass, obviously), and there usually is a seal of some sort, e.g. the black ring that can be seen in the attached pic —
