Does your can fit into the standard Ural mounting bracket?

I am looking to buy a Jerry Can. Mine was stolen. Please PM me if you want to sell yours. I'll take it off your hands.

I'm about to order...going 10L nato. Black carrier and olive drab can. My Retro is the gloss-olive-drab so I figure the black carrier will help break up the paint mismatch...from what I have seen on page 1 it looks good!

I plan to mount on the outside side-front of the tub. Would rather the extra counter weight out on the edge as much as I can, a lot of 3-up riding with a light tub passenger....only concern is if we get smacked from the side/front the gas will be exploding everywhere...

No, I did not lock it. I mounted it so you could not take it out without opening the trunk. I had no issues with it like this. I got a flat, and took off my spare to put on while the other was repaired. During those two weeks, I was w@$#ing the bike, and as I was drying, I realized the Jerry was missing. I looked everywhere at my home and finally came to the conclusion it was stolen, but I do not know where. :x
I probably still will not get a lock, but it will certainly be coming out if I do not have the spare on it.

That only happens in films :D

Just a thought, will be >= 10 kg (22 lbs) when full, so will be adding that as extra ballast to front of chair, then when you empty it, that ballast is gone. Poof, vanished. And handling of chair is changed.

Mine is on rear side of tub nearest to the bike, so empty or full doesn't seem to have much if any affect. YMMV. Image

FWIW, I've had the cheap, exposed seams 10 L can for the last 3 or 4 years. I think it was about $20 from Amazon, came with spout and rubber extension. I added a vent to the back of the can. Fits fine in the stock rack but I had to raise the spare a 1/4" to clear the top. Very pleased with it

Caution: those are huge 5 gal cans and are very awkward/heavy to pour fuel from into a mc tank. Also very important. Those are NOT NATO spec cans. They are cheap Chinese knock-offs. :(
PS: and what does "refurbished" mean in the ad? Soldered/welded the leaking seams and repainted??
For the price..TOTAL RIPOFF!

I've used 5 gallon cans for many things over the years, not that big a deal to use. finding metal NATO cans is not that easy and they are very expensive. The 5 gallon cans you get from harbour freight are $42 around here, Brackets are another $40-60, Do they make any cans somewhere else but china these days??
So doesn't seem to bad on the price.
If you have 2, 2 gallon cans on the sidecar (whish is what I have now) , close to same weight. but with the 2 cans, it's better distributed.
I'm not putting this 20L can on my bike, but it does look like a nice option for someone looking to.

I have one of those Wavian 10L cans mounted on the inboard side of the tub below the spare wheel. I have never had any problems with the can leaking or when I top off the tank. Very nice product.
