Sportsman's Guide / SG Jerry Can - Not Ural

Just an FYI as I try to find another Jerry can under $100 to replace my stolen one. I ordered one from Sportsman's Guide to try. They do not fit the current stock Ural Jerry Can Holder. As you can see, it is not just the seam in the way. The can is longer than the holder.

I wonder if it's the can is bigger than mine or the rack is smaller. The inside dimensions of my factory rack are about 12 1/4" X 5 1/4" and the 10L can I got from Amazon fits nicely.

Well, you do have a different holder. I got mine last year, so it might just be a newer style.
Do you have a link for the Amazon can you got?

This is the one I got, $39 with spout and rubber extension, but they don't list it anymore. They have similar ones but without the spout included

Sportsmans Guide must have bought a cheaper batch of them from Asia. I bought my surplus NATO can from them, & it fits perfectly. I'd send yours back & look on line for the Genuine NATO CAN - they are worth hunting for with their clever internal venting system & no mess spout. My seam is recessed to protect it.

That has the seam sticking out & looks like the one he is having a size problem with. The surplus/used NATO cans have the seam recessed. that outside seam could easily wear & develop a leak.

I think the newer holders may be smaller. Mine fits in my 2012's rack, I did add a plastic snap vent to make pouring easier. Seams have not caused any problems.

Every brother's dog is selling these 10L cans. Someone, somewhere has got to be selling the holding racks that go with them, the only question is "Where!"

Looks like they only have the holders for the short & squat 10L cans. Somewhere there is a thread were someone made their own rack with some right angle aluminum for a base and nylon straps to hold the can.

That is for the 20L. The Stock Ural is a 10L.
