My wife is 71 and in December, had eleven rods put her back to straighten her life-long scoliosis. Getting in and out of the sidecar is overly strenuous for her. She loves the pole. Can you sell us a kit?
Riding since 1956. Started with a 50 Whizzer, Had everything including two previous URALs, substituted a 2006 Bavarian Classic for my 2017 Indian Chief Vintage that I and my wife no longer can ride.

Wondering if a standard cane would fit in the bracket? Readily available, and you can also adjust the length as needed. Mine adjusts from 24-42" and 7/8" at the tip. That slips on and off easily.

I'm also planning on losing the light cluster off the front of the sidecar fender, and that location would be great for an extra hand hold.

I still have Hal's bracket installed, and it still gets use. :)

The bracket is certainly useful. My wife still uses it with the pole for getting in and out of the sidecar.

Also, I've been in a couple parades where it doubles as a flagpole:

The flag I had earlier in the thread turned out to be too unwieldy. But these smaller flags work great. :)

I finally got the bracket off today, so I can take it in for powder coating.
Along with a front bumper.

POWDER COATING always rusted - Before even rattle can spray did. I avoid it like the plague.
Spray paint is cheaper + can be touched up better.

Just my $.02

I was pleased (?) to find out that Krylon black satin is almost a perfect match for the factory almost finish on my 2011.
Bug bomb away!

PS ... kind of on topic. Anybody ever pop the top on a car for easier access? Doesn't seem like it'd lose any strength or stability as I'd think that's all in the frame. Something I've been playing with here ...

I've had lots of things powder coated at my local shop. Never had any issues with any of it. But I use spray cans too. Just depends on what parts I'm painting. :)

The tubes are ready and I've ordered the plates from the water jet guys. A week or so and I'll be done. I'm making a batch of 10 of the originals and have enough tube left for three or four of the new style.

I'll keep you all posted here.
