I'd guess it'll add close to$10k to the price. I tried to get a price on a retrofit kit, but never got an answer.

First have to consider that the market situation was not only upset by Covd, but the outlook was and remains uncertain. Or as my financial guy says, Risk.

IMZ at least has the data to tell them that the market did not fall out the bottom per 2008. Sweet for them, great for us, but as I was once told on a new compressor, we have no idea how it will do long term, there are only 8000 hours of testing in a year and we are only into year 1. Next year also remains uncertain as the market could change to the worse. As someone said, prediction is hard, especially when its about the future.

A lot of electric vehicle popularity is due to a credit, so you also have to factor in the real price, no credit for it and how much of a market is there for a rig that gets 120 miles? Charging stations are not common at all, locating them etc. So its an around town or city rig. For the price an all weather Smart type car makes more sense (granted cycles are not necessarily sensible but a side car is more sensible in a lot of ways but its still nuts like us not mainstream).

Granted I have a Honda Generator I could haul with me, charge it up as I go or stop to eat and charge, but hmmmmm..

Throw in Ural has put a lot of money into upgrades the last 2 years. I have no issues with the price, but at this point its about 17-18k for a GU or a decently equipped cT.

And you don't just throw in the Mod, you have to get your dealers on board with techs and parts and we already know good tech support is not a strong point dealer wise.

The one big bonus is no EPA issues to deal with.

We don't know what IMZ status is for being able to launch and support that let alone any market research to support what numbers, really bad company if you gear up for 1000 sales and you get 300.

I would love to see it come out, but have to fully respect IMZ and their need to manage the company.

I asked about it not long ago, and was told its still an active project in the works. Things take time, it took 3 years for the Gen 2 EFI from start to production.

That's been its status from the beginning.
I suspect its a long term project for when EU regulations start restricting IC use.

Government bureaucracy...
Head scratch that EPA has anything involved. DOT yes, still you don't have to test and prove the exhaust!

My big concerns for an electric Ural would be the quality of batteries and electronics.
Has ANYONE here ever seen a Chinese made lithium battery with an honest capacity rating printed on it? IME it is all lies. Quality is horrible. Often 1/10th the rated capacity. Charge a lithium below freezing and it may catch fire! Fast charge and it may catch fire as well. That is why the battery packs on Tesla's have liquid cooling systems and pumps and heat exchangers. Basically, I would be worried about the quality issues Ural would have sourcing all this stuff from the Chinese. I seriously doubt they'd source parts from Russia!
This is my step ladder. I never got to know my real ladder.

It's being done in conjunction with Zero motorcycles who are an industry leader in quality, and innovation.

Wikipedia says:

Quality and service issues

All Zero Motorcycles models had a large number of recalls compared to Zero Motorcycles volumes (some years, up to 50% of the 2000 motorcycles sold have been subject to recalls) as well as many quality issues.[44][45][46][47] Press articles also mentioned service issues and management turnover,[48] as well as injuries leading to lawsuits.[49]
