I, like many senior drivers where I work have been volunteering 1 unpaid day off a week so low seniority driver's can work too. My wife has also been working fewer hours. We will be using it to replace our lost income.
And that is what it should be for, those who need it. Gold falling from the sky is nice but we don't need it like others.

Keep in mind the person using it might not need it, but the person receiving it probably does. If you were to use it for something you normally don't do, like ordering take out food, or having your groceries delivered, you're providing income for those people. Using it at a local small business is another way it can help someone in need in your own neighborhood.

I don't think anyone should feel guilty about spending it if they don't need it just to survive. Spending it will still help where needed.

Agreed, but those activities are built into our plan so we did not need the money for that. Sadly our small eatery we do support is about out of business, all staff laid off, short hours via their takeout window.

With things shutting down, we are pretty well eliminated from any of that support.

So, again is very specific to any given situation. Ours is such that we will look at where we think its most needed.

Everyone needs to to make their own decisions. This is ours and maybe a spark for someone trying to figure it out. Its an idea I got from someone a long time ago that resonates now.

We're with RC20. Monies will be used to purchase food for local food bank. $2400 goes a long way at Aldis.

We have a few local breweries & distilleries that have switched over to making alcohol for hand sanitizer and supplying the 1st responders and people in dire circumstances. There is a local BBQ place that is running an "Adopt A Nurse" program to purchase meals for delivery to the local medical staff working on the front lines. So far I've funneled a few dollars to each of these acts of kindness. Once we have everything personally stabilized we'll be donating a good portion back to these community programs...

I suppose one could assuage their guilt by blowing it on booze, cigarettes, and legal marijuana as one would be giving half of it back in taxes...... :foilhead:

This is what was talked about the last year as "helicopter money" - What did it help for in Alaska? More alcoholics in a certain population group then wished for.
In the end it will be paid for some day by future generations ... OR BY INFLATION ... A state can go bankrupt too. Just look at Venezuela, Argentina, Greece.....

I admire the different loable proposals and in fact the best will be to reinvest it into the local economies and to those who really need it.

Myself, I hadn't any regular job order since November mainly due to this C19 phenomena, so i was thinking about asking for a subsidiary. But as long I pass by, my family will come along, because any subsidiary will have to be paid back. What when that payment day comes in a worse situation. I had that when my family got returned our houses from East Germany. (the day I got in 1987 the relief subsidiary saved the day and I got the oportunity to finish University, but when I had to pay it back in 1998 it rode me deeper into the mess then I would have wished.)

Funny that, my take is the breaks have all gone to the top and at least this is getting a lot who need it.

Boeing is mostly shut down at this time.

Supposedly every Boeing employee accounts for 4 non Boeing jobs in the Puget Sound region.

Friday we worked 18 out of 75 drivers due to lack of work.

I worked 26 hours last week.

I may have to go on furlough because of it.
