yup, 42 miles, but it was on the pedal bike. It is really nice not having to deal with cages on the local paths.

Trip into the Yorkshire Dales (James Herriot country! Also, Last Of The Summer Wine [Holmfirth])

Perfect weather for it, beautiful cloudless day, not cold, not too hot (but somewhat hot!) short video will follow later. :boogie:

Rode with my bud to plant mums/post colors at a friends monument. Painful times are made brighter because of my riding partner.

From Thursday (only got back home Monday)

(The beginning of the vid illustrates the non-starting issue I was having all that day — I turned it off just to try starting it again to see if it would fail to start again next time, and it did. It goes eventually. Since then I've bypassed relays #1 & #2 as possible culprits. There was no recurrence of non-starting on the trip back home, but that doesn't necessarily prove that was definitely it.)

After a trip to TSC (where the items I wanted were out of stock, natch), the ride home occurred in the dark. Riding after dusk is something I tend to avoid, despite the rig's upgraded and excellent forward lighting, due to the increasing presence of deer.

Nonetheless, with the cool air and the absence of traffic on one of my favorite B roads, it was a great ride home. But for the aforementioned forest rats, I'd ride at night more frequently. It's a unique and pleasant vibe, particularly when the Sena is streaming my latest playlist.

I spent they day yesterday volunteering with a client of mine who was hosting the traveling Vietnam Wall Memorial this weekend. I was tasked with assembling a motorcycle procession to escort the wall into the cemetery where it will be displayed until Monday. PGR, VFW, Legion, Axemen, Blue Knights, Manic Medics and a few other local M/C clubs turned out with just shy of 100 bikes (not bad for a private event on a Thursday morning). I carried one of the head clergy for the cemetery along with me for the procession. All of the local elementary & high schools assembled outside as the wall was escorted past. The local police provided escort & road closures while fire put out multiple tower and flag setups.

I spent the rest of the day helping with assembly of the wall & various guest services.

I rode to Heindl's Saturday to replenish my stock of spare parts and drool over the 2019s.
Yesterday I rode down to Bernheim Forest to see the whimsical Forest Giants.

It was a fairly nice day for a ride but a hot dry day to walk to the 3 Giants. Still it was a good day and a good ride.
