Submit Your Photos for the Soviet Steeds Ural Calendar

Post by dogboy443 » Fri Jan 11, 2019 3:48 pm

Hello everyone. After seeing a different post about a calendar, what if we put together a 2020 SSteeds calendar? I've put them together for the comic book convention I organize in October. We did a 26 page full color calendar with a calendar on one side and color images on the other. Something to think about. SS brothers and sisters could submit their (decent) photos then we sell the calendars to raise funds for the web hosting once the printing bills are paid. I think the printing and shipping costs were $4/calendar so charging $10-$15 isn't bad and it's print on demand so no one has to keep cases of calendars in their tub.
March could feature the Mobile Chernobyl and December could feature my Flying Pickle but I am thinking of more of a collage of pictures like what we do for the Greyhound rescue group I'm VP for.
Send pictures to my e-mail: dogboy443@hotmail.com

Cheers,
Mark

I think it's a capital idea. Concur with getting John's blessing, if you make it a Soviet Steeds themed calendar.

Great idea. I will support this. Have plenty of pics from eastern US rallies.

Ya might give Marty a shout... John is off doing other things and doesn’t check in as often as he used to... he passed the hammer and sickle over to MartyL...

P.S. thanks for what you do for them greyhounds... Julie and I have been rescuing Weims for the past several years... does ones heart good to give a used dog a fur-ever home...

Thanks 854. I've reached out to Marty. It's very fulfilling to pick the dogs up from the rescue center in Maine and to get them back and placed into foster homes and then do home visits and meet the prospective adopters. We firmly believe the Right Dog for the Right Home. Good luck with the Weimaraners.

I like the collage idea... more pics featuring more members=more funding... :D

...and a follow up suggestion... October is the ASPCA's Adopt A Dog Month... you could feature pics of adopted Dog-Monkeys in their sidecars...

Aug. 1st is: DOGust Universal Birthday for Shelter Dogs (a birthday for all the shelter animals whose birthdays are unknown)

Aug. 28th is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day--we have a few of these

And...(you probably already know this)... April is National Adopt a Greyhound Month

I didn't know the DOGust birthday. I'll have to mention that to our group. The collage works best because we will raise more funds, along with the sales, and we don't have to dedicate a month to only one person and their bike. I can hear the curmudgeons now.

Well, I guess establish criteria, such as minimum image size or resolution, and provide an e-mail address or "drop box" location for the high-rez imagery to be sent, then sit back and wait for the entertaining photos to arrive!
