My Ural bit me...

Post by JohnBG » Sat Nov 24, 2012 2:20 pm

While replacing the brake shoes I got my finger pinched in the wheel and busted off 3/4 of my fingernail on my middle left finger.

I cleaned everything with some peroxide and pushed the nail back in place and but a band aid on it. It hurts but not ad bad as it looks. What else can I do about it? :?

Maybe some cold barley and hops therapy is in order... :beerchug:

If the nail came off nothing. If it turns black it will fall off naturally. Then anything that touches the area hurts. Painful until the nail grows back which I will assume be the case.

Ouch...if the nail separated from the nail bed it's probably not going to reattach.

I just changed the bandage and the top part of the nail fell off... :puke:

I am such a sissie... I can't stand blood especially my own.

Applying more peroxide band aids and cold hops...

When it's a little less tender remove and toss the nail cause it's just gonna fall off anyway. A new one grows back pretty quick but it won't reattach itself to the old broken off piece so just get it out of the way.

Once it tastes blood it can never be trusted again. You need to shoot the Ural.
past afflictions include limey motocars and bikes, R60/2 & a R65ls, and a Citroen.
Now a 2012 rusty GU and a 87 K75s with 200k miles both bought new
dual K&N cones on homemade intake, 40/137.5
Raceway needles
Modtop exhaust
$29 VW Hydraulic steering dampener
