It is great to see Ural thinking in a modern way.
Here's a direct link https://www.imz-ural.com/electric
An electric Ural won't be for everyone. It looks to be one wheel drive, probably to save weight and increase range.
Although the 103 mile range will be a deal breaker for many. It would work for around town use very well though. 60 hp will make for better performance than gas, but for a shorter period of time.
Electric vehicle battery life is about to be revolutionized. In about 2 or 3 years there will be some technology becoming affordable and charging issues will almost become a non-issue.
This will be great to watch as it evolves.
Good for Ural.

My first thought was, "April 1 done come early this year." I don't know... maybe they're seriously considering this, but they still seem to have a sense of humor about it. I appreciated reading, "And it accelerates very quickly – for a Ural … ".

My thought on electric power. IMO the electric concept should have been approached like the propane tanks for barbque grills we have today in it should have been universal compatibility. Go to an electric battery station. Pull up, and your spent battery is removed underneath mechanically and replaced with a fresh one. And your on your way. Enough,"electric battery stations"just like we have gas stations and no worry about running out of power. Keep swap out fee affordable and your good to go.

I am a Test and Evaluation technician by trade and would love to have been part of this test. I have read their announcement twice and do find it interesting. With them working with Zero, I would expect the production unit to have almost twice that range when they are done. As stated, this is a proof of concept and their market research should let them know that Ural riders (most other riders as well) want more than 100 mile range. Utilizing some of the tub space for more batteries I think is a viable option.

And for recharging, I think Ural should look at a robust solar charging array for those who go off grid with their rigs. Solar charging takes longer but with the space available on the bike, a larger set of panels in a workable idea. It could even be incorporated into the top of a tent or the over shade for a tent.

Good on Ural for thinking ahead.

What??? No electric Ural jokes??? Maybe the jokesters are still sleeping.

Their first accessory will be an extension cord that is longer than 103 miles.
There is a small tank under the seat with an adjustable valve so it can drip oil when parked.
They will keep the kick starter, in case of battery failure.
AM Radio will be standard.

Sad that the electrical prototype is already doing better than the gas powered unit. 60HP and 88MPH. Wonder how loud it is? Are pipes baffled?

I wonder how hot that electric motor gets? It looks like it encroaches a good bit on the foot peg area. Will I get grill marks on my calf if I wear shorts? :?

Cute, but I'd be more interested in a quickcharger that could unleash the full charging fury of my home's 220VAC circuit.

@Tomcatfixer, I would think a rapid charging system would come as an option, Zero has them now for their bikes. They can charge from flat to full in two hours from a 110 outlet with their rapid chargers (2) inline. Just depends on how many duckets one has to spend on them.
