Re: Trunk Latch Breaking Key

I didn't have any issue with the OE lock, but I did change it out for a combination lock which has worked out well for me. IMG_2930.JPGIMG_2931.JPG 👍 on the Combi-Cam lock: cheap, easy to install, nothing to break or loose...and it comes in black or chrome finish... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0048C...

Re: Jumping Right In

I'm not planning to fly and ride, no. Not during winter at least. I was always planning on having it shipped, even if that does add at least another $1000 to the price. Check out haulbikes.com. I’ve used them a couple of times to ship Urals half way across the country for $350-$500. Also, I just sa...

Re: Stuff That Works

Lemon Pledge: we all know it’s used for cleaning furniture. HOWEVER! .... this is the best stuff ever for restoring clouded-up vinyl back to its full transparency. I found out about this from a sail making shop that makes racing sails with vinyl “windows” in them. That shop would also get calls to c...

Re: Auxbeam NF-S1 led & Hella E4 lamp beam shots

I’ve been using the Auxbeam /Hella H 4 for several years. It’s great! One note: if you put the bulb in upside down (which is possible to do) the light pattern is screwed up and doesn’t have that nice cut off that still lights up street signs when on low beam. The fix is simple: just rotate the bulb ...

Re: Cylinder Head Temp Gauges

These Trail Tech gauges work well: I have one on the left Spark Plug, and another that has the sensor stuffed in the headlight bucket which accurately reads outside air temperature. Trail Tech also has a Tach/Hour meter that utilizes one of the spark plug leads. They come in both black and silver, s...

Re: 2020 changes seem minor - FYI, they're on the IMZ site

My 2019 GU has aluminum wheels from Italcerchio S.R.L., no doubt exactly the same as on the 2020 Urals, according to m dealer. What is the date stamp on your wheels? My custom ordered 2019 GU arrived last month with a date stamp of 10/18 on the wheels. 22/19, which I can only guess means week 22 of...

Re: Heated Grips Install Question 18 GU

The blue thing in the headlight bucket that looks like a relay is actually the flasher unit for the turn signals.

Re: Heated Grips Install Question 18 GU

Just install a relay, with power coming from the battery, and “switched power” coming from the headlight low beam: plenty of room to stuff the relay in the headlight bucket.

Max current now available, and the grips automatically go off when you power down the rig.

Simple!

Charcoal Grey Paint source

I have a Gear Up in Charcoal Grey, and happened on a rattle can that is a PERFECT MATCH! (and I mean exactly perfect, believe it or not...). I hope this might prove useful to those of you with outfits this color. I just sprayed the entire inside of the tub, trunk, tank compartment, and battery side ...

Re: Pop-Bang and then fire!

I attached my First Alert fire extinguisher with one of these large size Quick Fist Clamps (similar to what the shovel is secured with). I mounted the Quick Fist on the front of the Aux fuel can holder, but it could also be secured to the tub. This makes the fire extinguisher immediately available i...
