Re: Dnepr aftermarket exhaust

To address the roundness, could you insert a socket into the header and hammer it back into shape?

Looks great! I'm in the market for three LEFT hand side fuse panels, if you can flip the plot.

Re: Hack seatbelts

Plenty of threads about this if you utilize the forum search feature. General consensus is seatbelt with roll bar = good, seatbelt without roll bar = bad.

Re: Best service/repair manual

A Ural is not the best toy for someone with limited mechanical aptitude or limited financial means. A wise shopper would research what ownership could entail before impulse buying.

Re: Best service/repair manual

The manual just isn't a necessity with the simplicity of the machine and the resources I've already listed.

Re: Best service/repair manual

Your best bet is a combination of your owner's manual, Billy G's MyUral site: http://myural.com/servicemanual.htm , gobium's LeMoto site: https://lemoto.info/ , and this very forum.

There is no current stand-alone service manual for your model year Ural.

Re: Parking the bike...

My thought was that when the engine is hot, the difference in expansion rates between the aluminum block and the steel bearing and possibly a lack of sealer, is allowing oil to push past the rear cam bearing and down the back of the engine onto the rear main seal and out the drain hole on the botto...

Re: Parking the bike...

Thanks for sharing the diagnosis.

On the plus side, like everyone says, at least you'll be receiving a Sergei-built engine, which is the Gold Standard of Ural quality.

Re: Funny or WTF photo thread

A fellow on Facebook posted this image of a decal on the back window of a Porsche and stated that we should have a Ural version.

...so I made one for him.

Re: Follow up question to Undercoating

I know it doesn't answer the OP's question, but since Mike Dubs brought it up, I'll be coating the inside, underside, and trunk of my project 1999 Ural, plus the underside of it's fenders, AND the under-fenders and bed of my Dnepr trailer with Monstaliner, based upon forum members Beastmaster and Ha...

If I remember right, the Sachs are rebuildable, yes? I wonder if anyone has done it.
They are not. They're sealed.
