Re: Uncrating - what's the chances??

Fuel pumps have inlet screens, not to mention media filters. I recover some small junk from my inlet screen at every service. Unless your talking about some seriously small paint flakes.

BTW, I'm just suffering the time.

Have a good one.

Re: Uncrating - what's the chances??

You guys have seen this post, right: http://www.sovietsteeds.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=25015&start=180#p308718 That's a pretty simple TB with port injection and not all that different than my ST with a 3bar system. There are simple EFIs out there (open loop correllating to a fuel map). I would...

Re: Uncrating - what's the chances??

Thanks folks. It seems like it is a possibility. The lack of warranty would be a consideration. You guys are starting to sway me on the EFI end. Not so much on the being stranded side, but more on the wait. Even if it is due for the 2014 bikes, I don't know if I can hold out that long. Have a good o...

Congrats on yours.

Have a good one.

Re: Uncrating - what's the chances??

Thanks. I'll ping you when I get this purchase all sorted out. Luckily, the sun is out. But just about everyday that it rains, I start thinking how much more fun and relaxing it would be on a Ural, let alone the depths of winter commutes.

Have a good one.

Re: Uncrating - what's the chances??

Thanks for the input. I don't want to sound standoff-ish. It just looks like a good time that isn't much more involved than anything else I've done. Most aspects would seem to be covered routinely when removing the side car or changing tires (I spoon my own). Specifically not talking about any Ural ...

Just a poke and hope. I do need to drop by IMZ HQ one of these days. They're just a few miles from work.

Have a good one.

Re: Attention Newly Registered Members!

Interesting. DMV here is about $50 plus sales tax. That's in the budget, just need to sell the car. Well, there's that whole 2014 model thing...... =)

Have a good one.

Re: Attention Newly Registered Members!

Thanks. I get the no sales tax thing, but I know around these parts, you need to show redsidency for stuff like that. Just curious. I bought my Duc from some excellent folks (private part) just east of Portland. I didn't know how that'd work for retailers. I already have a growing wish list for a bu...

Uncrating - what's the chances??

Hello, Yeah, I'm new around these parts and to sidecars. I want an EFI GearUp when they land here. I want this to be my back-up bike to take some miles off the quickly aging Duc, a replacement for our second car that gets used maybe once a month (the thing lives on a battery tender), be my Costco / ...

Re: Attention Newly Registered Members!

Another new convert checking in. Chuck from sunny (this week ) Montesano Wa. Been lurking here and on adv for a while and finally made the leap. Went down to Raceway and ordered a 2013 Gear Up. Good news is that it should be ready in about 2 weeks. Bad news is the soonest endorsement class is July ...

Re: Attention Newly Registered Members!

Damn. I just can't decide on an Avatar.

Since I've been jawing about getting one (for the past freakin' year), all the folks I've been talking to have started noticing them on the road around here.

Have a good one.

Re: 2013 Urals

Hey Folks, I've been lurking about and hoping to replace our unused second car with a Ural. Too often my bike (2001 Ducati ST4) finds some nasty weather in the winter commutes. That kind of makes a Ural the only choice to remedy that and get some fresh smiles. I'm new here and am absolutely getting ...
