Re: BOB & BILL show us your new and improve ural clutch plate.

I don't exactly know. The only guess is that the web page notes K750. This is the one that I am asking them about: https://www.ural-zentrale.de/en/motors/sv/dnepr-k750/flywheel-sv-ural-chang-jiang-starter-gear-ring With this kind of wear, I am very much against using an IMZ flywheel: Capture 1.jpg H...

Re: BOB & BILL show us your new and improve ural clutch plate.

From what see and asking around, ural new clutch plate splines are soft. Splines will wore out first before clucth materials Another word it sucks I m independent, I speak the truth, I m not on any pay role I very much agree, but I am left wondering if IMZ's quality assurance department  ...

Re: BOB & BILL show us your new and improve ural clutch plate.

Not sure if the newer plates are better or not. Take a look at them earlier in this post. Had one of them go boobs up just installing them. The friction material is not glued down. Just held in place by rivets. Sorry, I missed this post. I saw that post. Considering the price of these plates, that ...

Re: BOB & BILL show us your new and improve ural clutch plate.

I had to move the RPOS last night, so I measured the clutch plates. The original set both measured at 5.36mm thick. I don't know which one was the forward or aft plate. The current set measured 5.39mm for the forward plate and 5.41mm for the aft plate. I don't know what the original thickness was, m...

Re: BOB & BILL show us your new and improve ural clutch plate.

Chang clutch for Ural available in Europe from Ural-zentrale.de . It is thicker than the IMZ clutch by 1.5mm each plate, so Ural-zentrale says it needs a shim plate underneath the top plate. Rougaroo Thanks! I will take a look. Thicker is really what is needed. Have a good one. Wow! Those ...

Re: BOB & BILL show us your new and improve ural clutch plate.

Thanks, Bill. It really should not be this difficult for a rig sold on the premise of being rugged, esp with the marketing that IMZ shoves out (Hubert doing wheelies, the Good Spark people goofing off, etc.). I haven't seen the parts quote yet and am not really prepped to hear it. Sorry, but I'm con...

Re: Clutch tool - Idea

Thanks! When I removed and replaced the clutch 9k ago, I did it without any help and the engine sitting against a wall. That was a fiasco. The clutch and flywheel are ruined now and this method really helped getting the parts out and should be a breeze for the installation since I am not removing th...

Re: BOB & BILL show us your new and improve ural clutch plate.

I've been using Chang jiang clutches in my bikes for years now. Work fine weigh less. I was going to ask where you get your CJ clutches from, but being in Norway, I am not sure if that would help me. Thanks though! The Wife is pi$$ed and wants me to look for parts NOT made by IMZ. Yeah, I know how ...

Here are the pics. IMG_20170627_124708.jpg The pack before I pulled it. IMG_20170627_124718.jpg This is the old pack with 26,300km on it. I chose to replace it because of the spline teeth wear. Looking at both sets of friction plates, the friction material is not the primary concern, IMVHO. IMG_2017...

Re: BOB & BILL show us your new and improve ural clutch plate.

Oh great!!!!!!!!!!!! 9,000 km on clutch teeth?????? Where did these new plates come from? Straight from the dealer / IMZ branded. Pics coming in the morning once I resize them to post. The drive plates are gone also. I reused the flywheel after the engine rebuild to save money. It is now toast as t...

Re: BOB & BILL show us your new and improve ural clutch plate.

Well, it looks even worse for IMZ engineering / MFG'ing. They are sucking more than usual. The reason that I popped into this thread yesterday was that I was checking for GB input side problems. I thought a bearing had let go. How wrong I was. The inner teeth on the rear plate are gonzo after just 9...

Re: BOB & BILL show us your new and improve ural clutch plate.

Ok. That was a beyotch. Should have taken the engine out from the get go. Easy pulling it out. Was a royal pain putting it back in and getting it lined up with the engine bolt holes. Yes we used a rolling jack to rest the engine on. Also would be interested to hear from new bike owners on how their...
