Re: Are All Tubs Created Equal?

Thanks Lee! ok, so as long as I have a proper retro sidecar frame, any tub would fit? a new retro sidecar with frame is about 4 grand, twice as much as I paid for the bike :-) If I find a used tub (the ones I have seen on craigslist go for about a grand) and get a retro sidecar frame (about 500), 15...

Re: Are All Tubs Created Equal?

Rougaroo, thanks for the in depth reply! So if the cars were side by side and looking down on them, the retro wheel would be more forward, not due to the frame but due to both the body and the frame? Meaning the retro (and I hear ct tubs) are indeed different than the gear up or patrol? I was told b...

Are All Tubs Created Equal?

Hi Folks! I have a retro solo and have been hunting for a used sidecar almost since day one. Finding a used retro car is like looking for a needle in a haystack. My question is: Are all the sidecar bodies the same? And if I picked up a non retro ural sidecar, could I switch out the frame with the re...

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

And then there is the spot lights I added last week, can only see a touch of them here, and all sorts of undocumented wrapping to cover bad paint and flaking finishes, from a tank bib to speakers, grips, and dash cover….

Re: Replacement Battery Choices

I have had my retro for 4ish years with the same battery in it since before I bought it…. never charged (until right now)
I know a lot of stuff is different on the retro, will it take the same batteries as listed here?
Thanks!

Re: Retro Drive Shaft Question

So as long as the clip is there the whole thing aint gonna fall apart and I should be able to push the yoke in far enough to see the grooves and clip.
Thanks Darrell
Thanks also Lee! Yes, I know rust is not a good thing!

Re: Retro Drive Shaft Question

so the clip wold be at the left side holding the thing in place so it doesn't back out? so it could be pushed in but the clip would keep it from coming back out any further? oh! but the main question….. is too much spline showing, is this thing backing off and will eventually fall out or is it norma...

Retro Drive Shaft Question

Hi Folks! While w@$#ing down the Retro yesterday I noticed that the drive shaft splines were showing more that I expected, could just be super paranoia , but does this look right? Is the chrome piece with the two legs sticking back too far and if so can it be safely tapped back in close without taki...
