Re: Blown clutch?

I know that sweet melody of the Ural (Volga) Boat men, rowing without oars! I can play it in all gears including reverse! So the next question is ... Do I go for the whole clutch replacement kit, or just the pressure plates? I suspect the main wear is in the drive of the plates so the rest may be in...

Re: Blown clutch?

I could not understand the 1st and reverse working thing, so I started the bike, went through the gears they all just have the turning centre of the clutch ripped out sort of noise.

New clutch time.

Anyone have any other thoughts or tests?

Re: Blown clutch?

23,000

I can put it in 1st and reverse and it will hold the bike. So I am starting to think transmission.

To remove the transmission, or to get at the clutch I have to remove the final drive and the swing arm right?

Blown clutch?

Howdy folks Just want to pick the collective brain. Riding along, drop down to third and get a grindy noise and no power, tried other gears, same grindy noise, but cannot get forward motion. Clutch in no noise clutch out grindy noise and no movement. I can get neutral and get it into reverse. So wha...

Re: No Fuel Filter?

I just took my external filters off. The petcock filter is enough and the additional filters reduced fuel flow (probably not a big deal) and I kept getting air in the filters (probably no a big deal).

Either way I think you are ok.

Personal preference.

Ah, Mr Spawy eyed, parrot faced Wazzock Maybe you should change your handle to Mr Pillock By the way I did the same thing! But was able just to bend the disk back to true, the disk was fine, it's the carrier that bent. Geordie Mike A post like this is just begging for pics of the carnage. I can do y...

Re: Carb Synch tool

I dropped and broke my Harmonizer (NLA) so I am also looking for a new sync tool. I have a Twinmax, but it was not as good as a digital unit like the Harmonizer.

I am with Windmill I think the best option out there is the DigiSync I just have not heard any BMW or URAL reviews.

Re: Weather proof gps

I have been using a Garman Zumo for a few years. It Bluetooth connects well to my Sena SMH5 really well. I have a hard wired mount on the handlebars. Works well. When my wife is in the tub, she has it on the tub windshield on a suction mount, blue tooth turned off and my wife relays instructions all...

Re: 9/9/2017 Accident Resolution

Pleased to hear it all worked out. So difficult to know what to do when an incident happens. I am not being political, but thank goodness I don't have to figure the healthcare thing out, way too complicated for me. Bad enough getting the URAL fixed, but it is like a two claim deal you and the URAL. ...

Re: Saw this on Adventure Rider

Howdy All, I have said this time and time again, the folks who have owned and known about Urals over the last 30 years know this to be true, Ural, IMWA, is a VERY SMALL COMPANY, the last I heard the TOTAL employment to include all who work in the factory in Russia AND the folks employed here in the...

Re: Metal chunk on drain plug Now with added Photo!

To bad there isn't a way to use a engine video scope to look around, or can you. They are great camera/light all in a thin flex probe. HF has one for $50.00. just a thought, maybe the engine Guru`s will chime in .  That would be interesting. I can only imagine the instructions would ...

I was thinking dropping the pan would be a good idea too.

Re: Metal chunk on drain plug Now with added Photo!

One time I had a small mystery crusty on the drain plug of my Patrol, something like old glaziers putty with some metal particals in it, and nothing ever came of it. Perhaps it's some sort of casting void filler, or mold pattern filler? I am hoping for this answer to be correct. When I crushed it i...

Re: Metal chunk on drain plug Now with added Photo!

Well it did feel like a bit of stone, but it was magnetic ... So I tested the stone theory by putting it between a pair a plyers and exerted very little pressure... It was a rock or sand or maybe casting medium as it instantly crumbled. I think all will be well. Now I had already negotiated the fund...
