Re: Kick starting when warm

The carbs are sync'ed, tune-age is on, I have 2050km on it so I have not checked the air filter.

I will try giving it a bit of gas while kicking.

Kick starting when warm

I have no problem kick starting when it is cold. When it is warm ... no way. I have to use the electric start.

Anyone out there with some tips?

Re: Ural sidecar interior carpet set for sale! - SOLD

How does it cope with getting wet?

I am guessing you just take it out (Velcro) and dry it?

Re: 50MPH front wheel bounce

I may be putting a DORO 308 on the front this weekend, but in the mean time I made the shocks stiffer. The front was on the softest setting so I moved them up to the third firmest. The bounce got less, go figure. I may take it up to the second firmest to see if it helps. I am 215lbs so it is probabl...

Re: Timing Procedure questions 2012 Patrol

Due to being human we tend not to notice small changes over time. So we may be satisfied with the performance ???? but for running reliability it alone is worth the check. Timing is really easy to check. It needs a timing light. Attach light - mine does 12v battery attachment, then a clamp onto a pl...

Re: Timing Procedure questions 2012 Patrol

Very simple timing. Set timing light to 0 degrees advance. Have bike warmed up. Bike idling 800 - 1000 rpms, the first timing mark should be in middle of window. If the timing mark is in the middle of the window, then everything is as it should be, don't mess with it. If the timing mark is not in t...

Re: 50MPH front wheel bounce

I assume it is best to replace the bent spoke rather than leave it. I am thinking of doing the following ..... Mark the lateral wheel discrepancies Remove and replace the bent spoke to 42 in torque Check wheel again. Assuming no miracle Torque all spokes to 42in Check wheel alignment On the in of a ...

Re: 50MPH front wheel bounce

Alrighty step one complete. Wheel weights removed and dynabeads added. There is a definite improvement, but we are no where near rolling perfection. I have ordered a Duro 308 which should be here for next week. While doing the dynabeads I noticed three things, two lateral wheel shifts when rotating;...

Just got the dynabeads in the mail, so tomorrow I will do the beads all round and report on the progress.

Cool

Now what would be supercool would be a supplier that is less speedy that the dealer.

Any idea where you would buy one?

50MPH front wheel bounce

I have front wheel bounce at 50 mph. As a wheel correcting noob I was wondering if the following may be an easy ie less likely to make it worse way of going about things. 1 Dynabeads 2 replace the tire with a Duro 308 (with none leaky inner tube) 3 check torques of the spokes as per myural.com Could...

Re: Front brake odd behavior PROBLEM SOLVED

Well what fun. I did not think it that relevant at the time, but I had left my disk lock on and rolled the bike forward - no big deal I thought. Well it bent the disk carrier. Nothing a hammer could not correct. Straightened all is well. There were more problems thought, the brakes did need bleeding...

Front brake odd behavior

Just had an odd experience with my front brake, wonder if anyone has some ideas.

The level went soft and did not engage the brake, then when I pumped it it held, drove for a bit, nothing. Parked the bike now it is good???

What should I check?

Re: Ural Highest milage -no motor problems

This is a great thread. As a new Ural owner I would love to know average life expectancy of major components. I am sure there is enough collective knowledge out there that an 'extended service' list could be put together. Something like 20,000k service replace sealed bearings. Sure they may last lon...
