Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

Howdy All, Not "today" but sold the 2013/14 to a gentleman from Colorado, he should be getting it within the next couple of days. Today, a very nice guy who lives in seattle came out to look at the 2008, pretty sure that one is sold but will hold off announcing it till the money changes hands probab...

Re: 825cc M2Boxer EFI first ride

Hey Dave, Low compression. I read your reports before going this route and saw the photos of the melty, any performance gain wasn't worth the short life expectancy. The low compression pistons were slightly heavier than the stock Ural and felt very solid. I want this to be a reliable engine, happy ...

Re: 825cc M2Boxer EFI first ride

Howdy Eric N,

Do you have the high compression, or the low compression pistons in your 825 kit? The high compression pistons didn't last for me and the engine ran hot and in the end melted, the low compression set is still going strong.

Good Luck with your sale Dave! Howdy Alex, Thanks for the well w...

Re: 2008 Gear Up, $5,500 WA State, the 2013/14 Gear Up has been SOLD

Howdy All, Ilya, is trying to get me on a newer Ural but before I can do any kind of deal with him I have to thin my herd of Urals. First up the 2008 Gear Up, that I did the circumnavigation of the entire USA on in the summer of 2008. This bike now has 26,547 klicks on it. photo taken just a few mi...

Howdy Kliff,

What ever it was, it must not have amounted to much as I have no recollection of the incident. Life is way to short to hold a grudge even if something may have pi$$ed me off way back then it has been long forgotten, welcome to Soviet Steeds.

Re: Best drive tire for a "GearUp" rig?

I know tire issues have been discussed several times on here, but searching failed to answer my question. I have 2018 GearUp Sahara, I have the stock Duro 4.00 - 19 tire. I ride 50-60% off pavement. I tend to spin my drive tire a LOT when in dirt. I am looking for a more "meatier" tire tread, that'...

Re: Powerarc C5 status.

Howdy All, I know that "Paul" is probably going to be very pi$$ed off at me but I spent an awful lot of money on the C5, and have NOT in three years tinkering with it ever got it run dependably and it SHUTS DOWN when it gets hot. In fact there is a thread on Soviet Steeds concerning the over heating...

Re: Is there any interest, 2008 and 2013/14 Gear Ups, WA State

I'd love to buy that BSA Thunderbolt from you, but things are kind of tight right now. I'll get a hold of you when I'm a little more flush and see if you still have it and are willing to part with it. Good luck selling your Urals. I just bought a '13 Gobi Gear-up this spring, so I've got that boxed...
