Re: NEW PRODUCT, Rain Cover for Tractor Seat

Just thought I'd pass along how much I love the rain cover. In fact, I use to remove it, but now I don't it 'cause I think it looks so good - has more of the military look than the camo IMO. And, by leaving it on over the air/gel seat I bought from you, also, it just adds a bit more cushion. Thanks ...

Cheap cup holder

Always looking for a cheap way to meet a need, I didn't want to spend big bucks for a "Ural specific" cup holder. So I went to Pep Boys and found the perfect holder, made by Winpluse Type S, for around $10. http://www.winplus.net/product/2%20Drink%20holders/12%20Metallic%20X-large%20drink%20holder.h...

Re: Rig is farting and popping

Ok after a long delay of being frustrated and finding time to work on the bike here is where I am at. I got a jet & shim kit from Gene. I re-jetted, 2 shims, 2 turns air mix. The rig is backfiring at 1/4-1/2 throttle. Where do I go from here? Thanks, D Sounds like your jetting was not the problem.....

Re: re-jetting

I’ve got two questions for those who have a mechanic’s backgrounds from someone with none. 1. When the discussion is on the popping and farting of our Urals, the overwhelming solution is to rejet the carbs. Jetting the carbs is designed to increase the amount of fuel into the cylinder. Correct? My q...

Re: Chasing the occasional CLUNK!

I get the same noise too. I noticed it's usually when I'm in a turn, so, what I believe it is, in my case, is just the sidecar tub flexing.

Re: hack windshield, install question

You did it correctly. The hack windshield will not sit all the way down and will rub aganist the left side as the tub slants inward.

Re: Not a good start, and a contest!

I'm sorry to hear of yours and antisoshal troubles with your brand new machines. I know it must leave a bitter taste in your mouth wondering if this is a sign - it's not that it can't be fixed, it's that it has to be. I truly love riding mine and have not experienced any of the issues you've noted. ...

Re: 40mm Ammo box storage

I thought I’d provide a bit more information for those thinking they may want to install the storage box.

Ground clearance is 10.5 inches.

Front view you see the side car frame underneath – the box does not hang below the frame.

Side view you can see the relationship with the pusher.

Riding around SE Virginia

Southeast Virginia experienced a Chamber of Commerce weekend with cloudless skies and temps in the low 70s; perfect riding weather. My co-pilot was under the weather today, so going solo I decide to make the most of it. My route started by traveling along the Colonial Parkway. The parkway is got to ...

Re: Shorting in wet weather

I've experienced the same thing. Starts and idles like normal, but barely enough power to get out its own shadow once underway. What I've done is just pull over, wait about a minute more while slightly rolling on and off the throttle and it has seems to fix the problem. I have no issues when I'm dri...

Re: rear brakes pulsating.....ideas

Adam, Had he same issue when I rotated my wheels at 5K. Now at 6,500K I don't notice it. I too thought the drum was out of round. I swapped the tires back and forth -- same problem. So, I decided since it really didn't impact my stopping, and I really only noticed it at slower speeds not to do the c...

Re: Gas Tank Filler Hole

Had the same problem – it took three hours to get it all out. I used small needle-nose pliers to scrape (slowly) and lift and my finger nail (which works really well). I took a piece of sponge, damped it (that way when I lifted it out the paint was more likely to stay affixed and not drop off into t...

Ural for the wife - almost

Ok, my wife is almost ready to take the plunge and get her own Ural :foilhead: ; the fly in the ointment is our is our dog, Sammy. She won’t get one until I can get Sammy to ride in the sidecar so he can travel with us 8) . He’s 80lbs. I can get him in the sidecar, but he’s not crazy about staying o...
