Re: national cycle GT

Has anybody had any experence with this windshield? i'm looking to install a windshield on my new Ural. Pierce, Here are a couple of shots of a Plexistar 2 windshield - I gotta think the attachment point on the forks have to be about the same. The GT vs. the Plexistar 2 is that the GT is larger and...

Re: Plexistar 2 mounting - wind buffet

Thanks - I'll remount the lower support once I get home. I take it neither of you have had any issues with wind noise or buffeting?

Plexistar 2 mounting - wind buffet

I just mounted my Plexistar 2 windshield the other day. Now I have two questions. 1) Where did you mount the lower clamp on the fork? I couldn’t see an option beyond placing it on the slender part of the fork, below the thicker part with the headlight support. However, by doing so, and it seeming to...

Re: what's the WH stand for? on p slicer.

As I remember reading it stands for Wehrmacht Heer (army)

Wehrmacht was the term for the armed forces - we almost always associate it with just the army

That’s why you’ll also see WL – Wehrmacht Luftwaffe

Re: twin max.....worth the upgrade?

I've used the TiwnMax - and it's neat - but I can't tell that it get my idle any closer than the thumb and eyeball method (put your thumb on the left carb, lean over the seat and look at the right carb and twist the throttle - feel if the left moves when the right moves). And I agree with Scott - a...

Re: Seat belt

Still planning for my Gear Up... My wife is wondering if she could have a seat belt in the chair... With 2 beagles in it with her she is afraid of needing her hands to do anything else than holding tight. Any experience with this kind of contraption ? Thanks Philippe Easy to install - I've done it....

Re: Performance issues: 23-34mpg, 55-60 top speed, rough idl

"Rejetted by Holopaw (don't know the settings)" Holopaw rejets using 45/135s The Ural factory settings are 38/ and I think 125. If you read others posts you'll read that most find the 45/135 is too rich and they drop back to 42/130s. If you read on the internet, most experts recommend only increasin...

Re: Performance issues: 23-34mpg, 55-60 top speed, rough idl

Still breaking in so won't get great mileage (ever) but better once it gets around 7000km from what I noticed. Rough idle probable means your carbs are out of sync, mine did that about every 700 km's until it hit 5000kms. The lost power could also be out of sync carbs. Cables, screws, and anything e...

Re: Glowing pipes?

Hi, I'm new here. I've been riding my T for just over a week now. I've ridden it at night, too, and when I do, I swear the pipes glow just a bit. At first, I thought it was the taillights from the car ahead of me shining on the already yellowish stainless pipes. Also, I swear they stop glowing when...

Re: A little dual sport ride report - and final drive failur

Ed, Thanks. Not knowing the mileage, or usage of the bikes in the discussions I'm sometimes not sure if I need to be concerned, and Mr. Cobb's ref that a pending FD failure might show as the silver in the FD lube made me think. As for the FD grenade posts, which I've found very interesting and helpf...
