Re: 2 dollars, 2 feet, 2 minutes, modification

Ivan, I m also agreeing with you too. Anything is better than those caps, anything can under caps, sand, water. Move up high under something will help, filter or not personal reference. I like the mod, but my question is, what's being vented from the carb? Just gases? Excess Fuel? :? Gases only, th...

Re: Why

Why I bought a Ural? An easy question for me. When I first saw the Ural, I instantly recognized its lineage to the German BMW from the war. I love history and in a sense I’m riding a living piece of history. Having never owned, nor having a desire to own a motorcycle, the pros of having a sidecar fo...

Re: Suspension setting: what do YOU use?

Ok, here's a couple of stupid questions. 1) How do you read what setting you're on? I've looked at the shock and all I see are indentations, but I have no idea if I'm sitting on a 1 or a 5. 2) How do you adjust it? Does the shock have to be removed? If not, then is there a tool needed to twist the ...

Re: Newbie owner

Off topic - FWIW- If there was gas in the tank, I'd recommend that you drain the tank and carbs (it is not recommended to have gas sit for more than 60 days or so unless you add stabilizer to it). If he hadn't already done so, remove and clean the peacock fuel filters. If there is any paint in the g...

Re: Sporting Soviet regalia

I do agree with the non wanting to offend... but a red star could be seen as an hommage to a country who lost over 20M (23 if I remember well?) people fighting fascist Germany??? Riding a Ural with a german helmet: not cool!!! I'm in trouble. My wife bought me a German helmet for Christmas. I think...

Re: Sporting Soviet regalia

Agree not wishing to offend, but in our self-indulgent, if it didn't happen in the past year it never occurred society, I don't really think too many will make the association. Adding a Swastika. Yes. Red Star, probably not.

Re: sidecar drive shaft

Thanks for everyone's input. It is an assembly issue. I got in touch with IMZ and they helped out.Issue is that at dealerships that sell multiple products it's unlikely you'll find staff properly trained to work on everything..especially Urals. So, yes, they sold 6 urals this month that have the sam...

Re: Newbee gets his ride

I got the "Red October" from Dmitry (Ural of New England). Was very pleased with the service and detail they provided. Finely got the 'rig' shipped to upper lower Michigan the day before Thanksgiving. RO runs very well and tracks straight as an arrow. It's up on blocks for the winter.....can't wait...

Re: Non Russian bike: Limited edition Triumph

It is a cool looking thing but it's just a re-painted Thruxton with some odd bits and McQueen's name attached. I never could understand why a German courier would be riding a Triumph... I'm sure that 1100 folks worldwide would pony up the coin to have one. Triumphs were always great to ride - not s...

Re: Christmas Farkles

Finally got all my stuff put on that Santa brought me. Jerry can, Raceway springer seat, and Trail Tech trip computer. The jerry can took the longest as it was only available in green and I had to repaint it black. The Raceway seat is much more supportive than the stock solo seat. The stock seat wa...
