Re: Kick starter issue

Warmed up the oil which warmed up the entire system. Worked fine. Went out today and no movement again. Damn cold weather!

Thanks for all the help!

Re: Kick starter issue

Hello all, So update on my attempts to get running again. And a rant...for a minute. I am giving up on any of the big box auto centers that hire nothing but computer playing kids. Not one of them knew what a dipstick oil heater was. Tried explaining it as a wand heater just to see if that would make...

Re: Kick starter issue

Took all the oil out of main engine and tranny. Engine oil looked black so needed changed anyway, tranny oil came out a little cloudy and brown/greenish. Wonder if it got water in it through the air filter. Waiting on the oil to separate to see if there is truly water in it. So it sounds like my bes...

Kick starter issue

Hello all, So I have been away for a while and just got home. Wanted to go for a wintertime ride in our lovely snow but no dice. Always try to kick the bike a couple times before hitting the e-start just to get things moving a bit. Today however I tried to kick it and the kick lever would not move. ...

Remembering, not understanding, got it

Back around 2006 there was a Ural rider in Chicago who worked at the big research lab. Guy used to talk about riding his Ural all the time. One day he posted that he had given up rising for the most part because of family namely having kids. I will admit, at the time he posted that I thought " what ...

Re: NEW E-15 gas will make you a pedestrian

I must say that the idea of E15 destroying car is interesting. Though I was born after the change over I am voting for lead to be put back in gas so my Rover can run right without additive lead. I have been burning high ethanol content fuel in my Ural since I owned it and every problem I have had ha...

Iowa DNR rules for Ural??

Hey guys, So my church is heading out to Solon Iowa to the OHV trails. I want to take the Ural out but I cannot find any info about the DNR tags. Do I need a DNR tag since the Ural is a on-road vehicle primarily? I have gone off road in Illinois before but no one ever asked to see a DNR tag so not s...

Concession Sidecar

Hey all, I am looking for a picture of the concession sidecar that Wagners used to have on their site. Got a guy locally who wanted to use something like it for a promotional thing at the bike events. Anyone manage to save a shot of it? Felicia wouldnt happen to still have it sitting around a wareho...

Re: What's your handle mean?

I spent a few years working in West Africa. Had to develop a new email address at one of the local cafes and came up with this. Been using it ever since.

Re: Their insurance says...

Hi All, Quick update. I took the advice here and went with My insurance. I also sent out some bikes on SS, RI, and IMZ weboards referencing the bikes for sale by owners and dealers. The other insurance agency up the value and now my insurance is going ahead with the fix. So it sounds like I will be ...

Re: Their insurance says...

New info for me. If a vehicle is less than 8 years old and the insurance agency considers it a "total loss" (meaning the cost to repair is more than the NADA value) the insurance agency cannot sell the vehicle back to the owner. It must be sold to on a salvage title and then can only be used to part...

Got tanked from behind

Hello all, This evening coming home from work I stopped at an intersection for a red light and some lady drive a Toyota suv slammed into the rear doing maybe 20-25mph. Got a glimpse of her coming and held on tight because I couldn't move forward. She did a good number on the sidecar. The bar around ...
