Re: Throttle lock available?

Have the Vista-type on the XS and a small Throttlerocker on the Ural. That Ural “skinny grip” issue solved with a pair of slip-over foam grip covers. Overall, the Vista is a better bet for long-haul cruising.

2012 Genuine Stella 4T

Here’s a major-league shot in the dark. I’ve got a Stella 4T scooter that’s giving me fits. But for the four-stroke engine, it’s a Vespa PX clone out of India. Anybody have any experience with Genuine or vintage Vespa?

Re: Sidecar Wheel Spacer

Thanks all. By the way, great advice about making a friend of a good mechanic, Jeff. They’re getting too hard to find.

Re: Sidecar Wheel Spacer

I’m still trying to figure out how to post photos so I’ll make this more difficult than it needs to be, I guess. The spacer/washer I’m talking about goes under the castle nut (not shown in your photo) that holds the wheel on the axle. It’s being missing puts a snugged castle at the absolute bottom o...

Re: You still drive a stick?

Actually, my first car...a 1962 Chevy Nova...was an automatic. Very unusual at the time. Since then, never had another. Presently have a six-speed Forester. Smooth as glass and very comfortable. But I’m guessing it’ll be an automatic something or other come spring. No critical physical issues so far...

Sidecar Wheel Spacer

Sorry if I’m starting a new thread unnecessarily but I couldn’t find anything directly related to the situation I came upon recently. Long story as short as possible, took our rig to our dealer. Warranty runs out in about six months and I had a couple of items I’d wanted to get checked out. One of t...

Re: Flashing battery icon

Thanks for the input. Heat won’t be an issue for a while...I’m outside of Buffalo. First significant snow this morning. 😣

Re: Flashing battery icon

Gee...forgot about this issue. Indeed, checked everything with the multimeter and found all nominal. However, hope I was clear about where the battery icon appears. This is a flashing battery icon that appears above the mode readout on the led portion of the speedo NOT that on the face. Anyway, that...

Re: 12 volt blankets

Okay, answering for darling wifey here: 12 V lap blanket great, two thumbs up on the tonneau cover being used as wind break, hack windscreen a must. She also notes that a neoprene jacket...like those used in sailing circles...with thermal undies and a fleece mid-layer is enough down to about forty-f...

Re: Harley's new $49,000 Trike

Had a bike crash years back that resulted in my being unable to swing either leg over a motorcycle. My wife had been into scooters for some while. Got a Genuine Stella 4T...monocoque, step-through frame that I could negotiate...and rode with her on her scooters for a couple of years just to get some...

Re: 2018 dealer rebates and offers

I knock wood every time I even think about the deal I got on my 2018 Gear Up. Honestly, I think the dealership was looking so hard at the off-road market that they figured their former manager had made a big mistake ordering a gloss black model. With gloss paint and blackout engine, Givi driver and ...

Re: Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular

First time I took in that show, I figured it for a BMW, of course, until my daugther’s boyfriend said, “Naugh. It’s some sort of Russian deal”. That would have been almost fifteen years ago when he and my daughter worked at Disney. By the way, since the bikes run about 100 yards at ten mph each show...

Re: Flashing battery icon

Thanks all. Warmer today and no recurrence. Still, I’m going to get out the multimeter for a thorough check when home tomorrow. Still under warranty so I’d sooner find out there’s a charging system glitch now than later. Once again, too grateful for your advice.

Re: What did you do ON your Ural today?

Went to the “Save the Headlights” ride at Stan’s Harley Davidson in Batavia. We didn’t ride, but wanted to support the cause. As it turned out, we might have done the run. Our concern was holding up the Harley crowd with our 50-60 comfort speed. After everyone took off we talked to an organizer who ...
