Re: Who's got a red 2014/15 Patrol near Charlottesville, VA?

Looks like it was bought from CycleHouse in Forked River, NJ back in 2015, if that gives you any clues.

Here's the ad for those who haven't seen it on TV (since, as hotflash44 pointed out, it's not on Youtube yet). https://www.ispot.tv/ad/deTU/sprint-spr ... ss-america

Re: Need some input - firing on one cylinder

You have a bottom-breather? I'll go out to my shed and measure one of mine. Hold on... Yeah, 2007. But don't go to any trouble on my behalf. I can just take a gander at it now that it's home and safely in the garage. Thanks to all for the input - my Starbug is running perfectly (well, at least as w...

Re: Need some input - firing on one cylinder

Some physical barrier that lets air through but inhibits water sounds like exactly what is needed. Frogskinz. - frogskins.jpg - http://www.frogzskin.com/index.php?main_page=products_all Cool. Saw those mentioned in another post. Anyone know off the top of their head what size the intake is, or am I...

Re: Need some input - firing on one cylinder

Great you found the issue. I've never had carbs freeze up from water, snow etc in the air intake throat just the moisture in the fuel system freezing. I live in rain country and never had an issue with water ingress with the bottom feeder air cleaner assemblies (011 Ural) Not even with the top feed...

Re: Need some input - firing on one cylinder

since you indicate that it runs fine at idle, but not when you get moving, I would be inclined to examine your fuel flow. Periodic draining of the carb bowls is needed in the midwest when when the temps go up and down in the winter. While I did try the cap swap test others suggested, Mr. Heindl got...

Need some input - firing on one cylinder

Idles fine, fires on both, but when I get moving it stops firing on the left cylinder. Made it in to work, but wanted to avoid too much of a teardown in the parking lot - it's 15°F here right now. Is it possible I just didn't let it warm up enough? I'm still running 20W50 oil which I've heard I shou...

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

Finally got my valve fishing tool and did my first tube change. (Rode the old tube when it was flat and tore off the valve). Aired up the others as well, and was very pleasantly surprised at the performance of the $10 air pump from Walmart - the size of a couple decks of cards, plugs into the power ...

If my daughters were younger I'd have looked into a Watsonian Squire (or knockoff) for my Royal Enfield.

The Chinese-made WW2 BMWs were indeed rare. Especially those from State-Owned factory 4062.

This is bike number three, think I might have a slight problem.

The only problem with three bikes is deciding which to ride today.

Re: Likely a dumb question but I'm incapable of feeling shame

i have read many Uralistas complain about how dim the speed-o light is, and i agree 100% it is dim, excluding the way newer Urals i guess. Anyway to make it brighter is of course up to the owner, but i have a observation that i guess only a old car/motorcycle guy might notice, that is when i got a ...

Re: Enfield with Cozy sidecar

+1 I'm with mark. Though I love RE solo's they are a serious slug with even a "tiny" chair. Expect a flat road cruising speed of 40mph. Kinda makes a Ural seem fast huh? That's what sold me on the Ural. Couldn't wait for the 650s to hit, and besides I've gotten spoiled by reverse. An Interceptor wi...

The Mobile Chernobyl in the "Need to change the hack wheel without a jack" position. 2018-10-24 19.45.00.jpg That picture inspired my wife to dig out the photo of the time I ripped the starter arm off of our autorickshaw in India. At least there we had a chase team following the rally to do the fix...
